What's a database admin?
Is that something you do over the web? Aren't you in the Soviet Union? How does that work?

What did you do for 2 years? There are some IT people I know still out of work too. They are changing careers all together. You should check with your state about getting additional training for another career... with the unemployment department, it is always free for them to send you to college or tech school.

GIVE THE JOB TO ME!!!!

j/k

that one was for yesterdays bullshit blackpanther thread

Im a real estate agent. I own my home and I did have a rental property that I sold and I have been living on that money.

I dont have any college education, so Im thinking about going. I dont know if it will help. There just seems to be no IT jobs out there, although I do see this changing in the next couple of months. Hiring seems always to be slow in December.

What state? Most of the IT workers I know of didn't have a college degree either... they had certs and hands on experience. A few of them had BS degrees though and they are still looking.

Even places like Circuit City, Borders, and Dilliards and other "low end" jobs like that will not take a look at them. it is a catch 22 situation.

career change.

Yep. I dropped the network admin degree program about a year into it. Realized that the market was shit when I was in school with guys who had 20+ years experience and still out of work.

Yep.

Ironically, I am going to be starting my own business next year (need a bit more research right now), and 2 of the people I plan on hiring are formerly IT workers.

Find what you LOVE to do, become the best, most driven artisan there of, show your works by constantly pushing your knowledge and limits and money will no longer be a problem for you. Your enemy will be: time.

word on that.

LOL

As for the quote... methinks that the quotee is a bit misguided. Most marriages end because a woman wakes up and realizes that she is better off alone.

She already:

does the cooking
cleaning
child-care
has a job
takes out the garbage
gives herself and orgasm.

Why on earth would she NEED to be married? :D

Change the she to a he, and that was me.

I think I am in love with you.... will you live in sin with me? (Not doin' "the marriage" thing EVER again.)

I'm flattered.

It is damned tiring to work all week, workout all week, and then come home, only to clean up after other people on the weekend. Not too mention paying for everything.

I know what you're talking about.

I m a real estate agent in Michigan. The average agent makes only 15k a year. The paper work is hell and you have to kiss ass.

hey, AAP, hire me. I live in Tallahassee, but right now I'm in Miami, which is minutes from Ft. Lauderdale. I'm pretty intelligent and loyal.

hmm.... may be I should just get a fob at curcuit city, and advance to a manager in 3 moths or something. I need to work and to develop things. later.

my neighbor in santa barbara is a real estate agent... 5th year in the business in montecito and he's pulling mid 6 figures. Fucker is stupid as hell too.. i had to explain the basics of finance to him one day...
