There is this thing I read on the internet today that in Africa, a bunch of teens are going to do from this diease. Im a 16 year old kid, and have sex every so often, but whats the risk?? There different girls, and I dont know where they have been?? What are ways to make sure I dont get it... I keep hearing that the condom wont prevent it good enough....whats the world coming to.....looks like disaster to me... I just want to make sure I never get this dreadful thing in my body....thanks everyone.

Heres a way to not get AIDS...don't sleep with anyone!!!!!! Thats the only surefire way...its called ABSTINENCE!

Dude your not gonna get AIDS from fucking with a rubber. Some research seems to show that heterosexual transmission in Africa is different and easier than in the West. Apparently, African women are more poorly nurished and have suffered other infections that tend to leave the vaginal tract more susceptable to infection and also transmitting the infection.
Even without a condom your risk is low, having said that, is one good fuck worth a risk of contracting an incurable deadly disease. Completely aside from AIDS, getting a young women pregnant is definately a possibility of sex without a condom, unless she's on the pill, and how do you know.
Then there are the other STD's, let me really scare you. Syphilis and gonnareah, herpes, venereal warts, all that shit is much more easily be contracted than AIDS. People can carry syphilis and gonnareah without any visible symptoms, and it can be easily contracted by eating pussy. In some instances syphilis can very easily becomce a very deadly disease within a matter of 2 to 3 months...all before any visible symptoms appear. Withen a matter of months of contracting it, it can invade your nervous system causing permanant brain or nervous system damage.
Before you take the plunge, educate yourself, go talk to someone (school counselor, doctor, family planning clinic) who will talk straight to you. Don't let anyone give you that abstenance bull shit, without giving you the information you need to make a choice for yourself.

Damn right.... Forget about just HIV you can get some other type of STD. Lets face it, CHICKS that put out for your sexy body, have probably put out for a dozen other guys. And if these other guys has sex with other girls, and those girls had sex with other guys, etc... You are essentially having sex with 10000 of people. Pretty damn sick!

Logically when I think about the safety of a condom it does not seem like a sure bet. Condoms have natural pores (openings). It fails to prevent pregnancy something like 10% of the time - I forget the actual statistics. But since every sperm that makes it through doesn't impregnate, many many more are getting through. And a virus is much much much much smaller than a sperm. So it would seem like the virus would be passing through or spilling over or something.
I have an aquaintance who just came out of the closet. he has had sex with hundreds of guys over the last 9 years it turns out (he was married to and had 4 kids - who would have thought it?). He and his ex wife got tested and were negative for AIDS. He had unprotected sex - so even with ALOT of unprotected homosexual sex the only thing he got in 9 years was one case of the crabs. So it is possible to have alot of sex and still not get it.
As a guy, being the giver of a load in sex , is alot safer than being the girl (even the gay girl) and recieving a load.

Alex here is some realistic advice, something the other guys are trying to avoid. as if all guys waited till later in life to bang chicks. get f'in real. bro it's like this,"if it walks like a ho and talks like one it probably is," use a rubber and make rational decisions and if you can't do that then whack off! good luck!
I agree with superkutt. getting laid is a natural part of being a teen. If you worried about everything in life you would be afraid to cross the steet. Just make sure you look both ways. Always wear a condom and never trust a woman when she tells you she is on the pill or she is a virgin or any other bull shit excuse. Trust only yourself.

Saw your post and since Iw work for an AIDS Community Service Provider I thought I would just state one stat : Almost 48% of all new HIV infections in the U.S. are contracted by 13-26 year olds. To me that is frightening.
HIV/AIDS is a powerful disease and while condoms are a great line of defense, they are not foolproof. They come off during sex, they break, etc. Also, pre-cum carries HIV so if you think only by blowing a load in a person is the only way to get HIV, you are wrong. A little precum in the vagina can cause HIV infection.
My uncle died of AIDS and my mom died of cancer. Both diseases to me seemed very similar in the effects that they can have on the body. The wasting syndrome for me was the most difficult, and the dimensia was also bad.
Please keep yourself safe. If you need support, come to the board, or find some services in your neighborhood. If you live in NY, I can help you with those services, but am unfamilar with outside NY services.

Well...I was a virgin until was 19yrs old and had a little direction in my life. I am sooo thankful I decided to wait. As far as contracting the HIV virus...A female having unprotected sex with a male that is HIV positive...her chance of contracted the virus is 80% by studies. Reverse the scenario for a male having unprotected sex with a female who is HIV positve...his chances are in the range of 20% in contracting the virus. I am in no way advocating unprotected sex as you have sex with multiple partners which greatly increase your risk factor. I am just trying to ease your mind a little bit. You should be careful because the virus is most prenevolent in teenagers 14-24yrs old. Get tested, once you find out you are negative...take the necessary precautions to be safe and decrease your risk factor. I am not going to be a hypocrite and tell you to stop altogether. That is a choice you have to make...

Dont fear anything but be aware of everything, if you want to have sex, educate yourself, always use a condome even if she says she doesnt like them, tell her you are doing it for her sake,tell her that she doesnt know where you have been. Its better then saying you dont know where she has been.
