Please do a search on my name, GettingLean. My husband had gotten back surgery and he was prescribed oxycontin. He's been on them now for over 2 months and his dosage has increased to 200mg/day just to NOT get sick!! The withdrawal is HORRIBLE. His doctor is now trying to ween him off slowly and he will be taking a drug called Buprenex when he gets down to a low mg dosage. My husband is (was) 6'5" and 288lbs with 7% bodyfat. To see him now, its night and day. He'll be back on top of the world soon, trust me. BUT......DONT DO THIS TO YOURSELF....Take this info from someone that know firsthand. In a serious non-flaming reply - You dont have much chance at all. The media scares coupled with docs worried about getting busted for dispensing it mean you've got to be in some serious pain or friends with a doc to get it legally. Hooked on opiates is not a place you want to be, but having tried OC's, I know that they make you feel wonderful. I only had enough for 2 days and havent had any more since but I can see why they'd be addictive. In some areas its gotten so bad with robberies, etc. that pharmacies refuse to carry it. In other places, Purdue Pharma gives docs special tablets to write Oxycontin prescriptions so people dont steal a pad and go crazy. If you are doing opium based painkillers on a daily basis and you dont have a legit reason, you might (and probably do) have a problem. Sell the rest, get some Ativan or Valium and get yourself off that shiz. Word.

Please listen.....My husband is on the 40mg oxys and is physically addicted. His doctor is weening him off of them SLOWLY and will be giving him other medications to help with the SEVERE withdrawal symtoms when he is totally off of oxys. Oxycontin has its uses, but when taken for a long period of time, whether for serious pain, or just getting high for fun, your gonna go thru HELL when you stop and/or run out of them. I dont think its necessary to flame you as others have on this thread, but you must consider what is in store for you if you do this. I will point out, that you ARE NOT a "loser". Its human nature to want to feel good, as opiate-based drugs do. But please read up on the horror stories on this medication. Hell, do a search for my post that describes what my husband is going thru as we speak. Best of luck to you my friend.....i hope and pray you make the right (and life-saving) decision.

i went to the ER last summer and I have a pre-existing condition that suggests morphine as a solution for pain. I was given Tramadol which sux!! I was given something else I forget. I asked for percocets since that is what I usually was given. And can you believe that the ER doctor said no. and guess what the hell they give me instead? Morphine. They gave me the lowest possible dose and it did jack for my pain. They mentioned something about abuse of percocets in the ER so they were not allowed to give it to me. This was in NYC by the way.

Aaron Maddron is, or at the very least was until very recently, a junkie, and he's a pro. Being a junkie has nothing to do with how big you are. It has to do with being a drug addict, and it certainly sounds like this guy qualifies.
