How do you think people get warrants? hahaha, tell him not to pay it, the next time he gets stopped for speeding, jaywalking whatever, the cops will have a field day on his @ss.ambulancechaser

Yes he should pay the fine. If not, they will issue a bench warrant after a given time period. And then, the next time he gets pulled over for something stupid, he is fucked.

How the fuck do you get 15,000 worth of gear on you? Dude must have been clinking like fuckin' wind chimes with all those amps.

First off I advise for him to pay the fine. Now let me put in my two cents and my experience since I also got busted last year. What they (customs) calls "street value" is bull. I got busted with about $350 (what I actualy paid in Mexico) worth of stuff. They caught me and after the strip search in that little room in secondary they brought out their expert and he says this looks bad, its about $5000 street value. I was like bullshit. They called the DEA after 2hrs of waiting they declined to prosecute. Customs issued me a $10,000 fine but droped it to $500 if I pay within 30 days if not it goes back up to 10,000. I paid it , THE END

I always thought they arrested your ass right on the spot. $500 fine wouldn't be a bad thing if you were successful a few times before they got you. The handcuffs is what I would be worried about.

OK,let me get this strait.If I got Searched at the border,and got caught with a shit load of gear,they would just take my gear,fine me,and send me on my way?Gear is just vas illegal as cocaine.If I got popped trying to bring in a couple of ounces,I seriously doubt that I would not recieve any jail time.Some of this info sounds a little strange.Somebody please shed a little more light on this topic.

I have to ask this question----why on earth would you bother smuggling over 15 bottles of t3----items like that are too damn cheap and take up too much room?

I got busted in Nuevo Laredo a few months back.. The dipshits had no clue whatsoever about gear.. They had to ask me how much everything costed.. and of course I gave a reasonably low price.. Ended up paying a $200 fine. I had to pay it right then and there or else they would keep my car. What kinda BS is that? I'm a broke 21 year old college dude.. Anywayz I took care of it. I want to make another run, but am not sure about a "repeat offender" scenario.. If I got busted again (for a small personal amount) would I have to do jail time or what?
