Getting a THICK NECK

I need to increase the girt of my neck. I want it to look like a rottweilers. My traps are pretty big and it only helps emphasize how weak my neck is.

What exercises you guys do to specifically target the neck.

seems to me when you work your traps you work your neck indirectly. Come to think of it anyone Ive ever seen who has big traps has a big neck. How small is your neck?

Deadlifts, Squats, and variations of shrugs made mine bigger....the strain you get from squatting and deadlifting really affects the neck IMHO...

do headstands and stuff..

before wrestling practice u do this neck thing where u get like a dog but on ur toes and hands then on ur head, remove ur hands and put ur neck from side to side (no using hands) and then from back to front, then turn over and do a neck bridge same thing

my neck has gotten thicker, but only because of the deads hitting the traps so much. sublimezm's wrestling exercise was what i was going to recommend too. great for strength in your neck.

I find my neck just grows naturally.. I'm 23... and have never really done any direct trap/neck work. Both are pretty damn big.

If you compare my drivers license picture to 5 years ago.... it look as if my neck has completey taken over the entire picture....

Seems like its one of those things that grows form indirect work.

Yup, neck is not huge by any means though...

Heard a good rule of thumb is to compare neck and arms...neck is 17" arms 18" so I guess one could say neck is "lagging"

It's 16 and looks small compared to rest of me. Like someone mentioned earlier I too expected it to grow from indirect work but it hardly did. I'm gonna try what Sub suggested, sounds good.

yay! :)

You can buy those things that strap over your head that you can attach a weight to for fairly cheap

Lay with your head hanging off a flat bench and put a weight on towel thats resting on your forehead, then move your head back and forth

Isometic presses (against your left or right hand)

DB Shrugs (many do BB shrugs with mediocre form, doing the movement too fast or without a full range of motion...or they lift with their arms not the traps. DB shrugs to your sides allow you to get the full range of motion, do your reps slow and hold at the top of the movement.

My neck is over 18" with the head looking up at the ceiling (the only way Ive found to flex it). I think deadlift helped some with the thickness, and the trap work probabally had an indirect effect over the years also.
