so short story is i was doing some volunteer work last night and i met a super hot chick and
we hit it off. (so i was middly drunk, but no beer googles for sure)
Well i said can i get your number before we leave tonight and she was all for it, but things got hectic later and i didnt even have a chance to see her. So the only way i can possible get in touch is to ask the /team captain/ if she has her contact info. Im thinking just a email address really. Im just wondering if that would come off tacky, as in she maybe thinking you did what to get my info!? I shurly dont wanna come off stalkerish, but in this case im thinking im in the clear since she already said she would give it to me.

*Im reminded of a Seinfeld episode where Jerry gets a girl number from a AIDS walk signup sheet*

I was just about to Seinfeld this thread up - glad you mentioned it.

Man, tough call. First off, I have to say it - you should have just gotten her number there and then. Asking her if you can get it later is a half copout. Now, the reason I bring this up is cause it is DIRECTLY related to this current predicament. Since you asked her if you could get her # LATER, you gave her an easy out from the potentially uncomfrotable situation of her having to shoot you down (once again, potentially). So, now you don't really know if she would have given you her # or if she was just taking the out that you gave her. Lots of girls are really bad at turning down advances. Hence, wrong phone #'s or getting a girl's # and she never calls back or really isn't interested, etc, etc. (for some reason they don't understand that they are doing worse by not being honest with the dude upfront).

So, theu question is - do you really believe she was feelin it? Cause either way, that's a bold move you're about to pull homey. Big risk / reward there
 
yeah this ones tough. u should have sealed the deal then and there, but alas, things dont always work out. i mean you could try this captain thing, and if she asks where u got it from, say "you told me your number." because you did ask and she did agree.. but u can always pretend like she told you , and simply forgot because things got hectic. that or just move on... good luck!
 
Worst idea ever, Yarg. lol, sorry man. Starting things off with a lie - and a lame on at that - is not how you want to do things with a young lady.

A terrible option is not an option.

He could either go the route he proposed - which is very very very ballsy (could end up getting lucky with her thinking it's "sweet") or he could make it so that he "happened" to bump into her again.

ya im worried that might make him come off like a stalker like u said. and maybe she agreed to the number thing because he asked for it later on and not on the spot. she could 1. be never feeling him to begin with and was thankful for the intermission or 2. changed her mind in that period of time. and then all of a sudden he calls her cuz he got her number off some person.. can make for an embarrasing situation.
 
If she were interested, I'm sure she'd be flattered that you went through the trouble to get her #. I say go for it. What's the worse that can happen? She tells you to @#$% off? Doesn't call you back? Only live once.... :)

I know i really fucked myself assuming later wouldnt be a issue.
the reason im saying i was /feelin/ it, was i sat down by myself to take a break and she came over to me and we just shooting the shit for 20 min. I didnt have my cell on me to get her number right then and there, thats why i casually said i should get your number when we are off shift and she said for sure. Then we got reassiged and i couldnt find her and it was choas.

thats what im thinking too, i would never see her again unless we volunteered at the exact same time next year too.

so i was just looking up my team captians email, i was gunna reply to one she already sent and i see she CC'd all the team members! I know her first name is Lindsay, except i there are 2 Lindsays on the team and i dont know who is who..
just when a new door opens another closes..
I could send a email to both then just tell the wrong person i got the names mixed up when they are like wtf are you talking about..
gunna have to think this plan over..

killah was dead on when he said that the "im going to get you number later" angle gave her an easy out, and so you cannot discern her motives. its a bit ironic because just asking her for the number on the spot and being rejected is a lot less awkward than what youre about to do now

anyway the way i see it, unless the girl was REALLY hot for you (in which case, you cant screw it up, you just need to get in touch) i would re-attract her, THEN get the number or whatever, and follow up. is there a way you can see her in person again? perhaps through some sort of team event (where i am, volunteers all get together a few days/weeks after the event for their own little celebration). are you so into this girl that youd be willing to organise such a meetup just so you can see her? (or at least, send out emails to everybody "guaging interest" in such an event, and so reinitiating dialogue with her smoothly ;) ...and THEN getting her number ;) )
 
fitnessgrl had my thought, unless you are going to see her again there is no risk here, only potential reward. if you do nothing now you'll get nothing vs. being rejected for getting her number in a weird way you'll also get nothing so it's a wash, only upside.

if like GD says you have an opp. to see her again in NEAR future that is probably best option.

Vansmack where were you volunteering there. I was there thurs fri and sat for the early show. I also worked wednesday, all day friday, and part of Sunday. Not sure if I can help at all but I have been doing stuff for the festival for 9 years now.

9 years damn, i was a /pourer/ on fri and sat night in the MTN section.

its a lost cause now, i sent a email to my /captain/ and got blown off. So im gunna drop it.
oh well, win some lose some.
i was kinda pissed about 1/3 of the booths ran out of beer late sat

I met a girl in Charlotte a little while ago. A 20yo. Really, really sweet girl. Tons of fun. Anyway, I got her # that night (I pulled the cell phone move on her) when I was leaving the location where we met. My play - I texted her about 1 hour after I last saw her and got her #. Her text back: "Hey! I was thinkin bout u! Call me - for real!!".

The point - fuck the 4 day shit or the wait a time shit. The text message is revolutionizing the game. It's really under appreciated. And it's something that can be saved and looked back upon and talked about with her girlfriends.

I have no idea what this has to do with anything

yeah but if she was still trashed then of course she will be all gity (assuming thats the way you met her) then once she's sober thats only the real way to get a feel of whats going on.

That sucks maybe something will work out for you.

Friday night while I was working I had to carry a fucking radio so they could send me on errands.

I am glad I wasn't there sat night it turned into a heinous debacle.
