Get This (car update)

velvett

Elite Mentor
Platinum
510 Miles driven
1 rental car
$2,575 Dollars
3 Days (2 of my days off)
2 Service Advisors
1 Bitchy Greeter/Receptionist
1 Bad car wash

And MY ENGINE LIGHT turns on for the 3rd time after servicing 3 times in 1 week and 1 day.

You could say I am rather angry.

DId you know that the service advisor at car dealers make a COMMISSION off of what they tell you your car needs? (First advisor quit and oddly enough told me in detail why - IE cutomer base and commission)

After I told the 2nd advisor that the light was on AGAIN and blah blah my time, this needs to be fixed, blah blah - he says, "well if you don't feel like driving the car here again get yourself a tow truck." To which I reminded him that I had my car serviced THREE time and THREE times the engine light went back on the same day.

He was a poilite asswipe.

So I figured why scream.

I will call my credit card company instead. (The customer service lady I spoke was outraged at my plight - score one for me)

I wonder if I will get the time of day when the service manager realizes that he's not getting paid.

That said - I really hate this sort of action, it's one step away from those *I'll sue for anything types* but the fact of the matter is I don't believe the work noted was done and if by chance it had been it clearly was not done correctly.

If you give me the number velvett I will call and give them a royal ass-chewing, army style. It may not help but it couldn't hurt.

it was exactly this type of "there is nothing wrong wit ze automobile it is ze driver" that drove (no pun intneded) me out of a certain german car and into my first of 3 hondas.

Sorry to hear about your misfortuen Velvett.. there's not much worse than getting dicked on automobile repairs. I think you're justified in cancelling the transaction for the "repairs". It would be nice if they had just said.. "oh shit.. well.. why don't you have a seat for a minute and I'll have my best tech fix it up for you right now at no charge." But.. car people don't work that way the slimy bastards. good luck!

Cancel ALL of your charges. Repairs, expenses, etc.. related to the dealer. Then when they call you and inquire about it, let them know that in addition to that work that you had done and it never was corrected or repaired, you also have a rental car bill that was incurred while waiting for the non existent repair work. Ask them what they are going to do about this.

Then call the corporate division and report this chain. Report what the guy told you about the customer service commission as well.

Car dealerships are where the slimiest of the slime work. At least the people who deal with the public. As far as I know (and I used to be a mechanic) the mechanics are good people. But the people who are designated to deal with customers are slimebags of the lowest degree.

Moral of the story: unless it is a warranty repair, NEVER get work done at the dealer. The people who get all their work done by a dealer are misguided fools. There are plenty of honest, skilled private mechanic shops out there.

velvett--what make of car dealership was it?

JC

Velvett.. are you still in the BMW?
You will get a call to see how your service was courtesy of BMW of North America…rate them low…the dealership will get a little heat. If they get too many bad reports they can lose their dealership. :)

Dballer -

I will pay for work done. Is it not perfectly clear that there is a problem? Would it be ok if it were a Chevy or a Ford?

It's not about the money it's about the lack of service.
I have NEVER had a problem with my car before.

I had a pontiac that cost me more the first 50k miles than the first 100 miles of my Bimmer.

So don't even pull that *snob* bullshit on me.

You know most trucks out there cost more than my car. People just see BMW and they roll their eyes as they drive by in their $40-50k dollar, jacked up, capped up, juicied up 4X4.

Go ahead ask me about the Olds I had....
