German pride month?

Just a question, Should everyone have some sort of month? My heritage is full-blooded German. Hannover and Leipzig are my Great grandparents are from. No, they weren't Nazis, just proud German folk. I take pride in my ancestry, and have even traced my family tree back to 1511. But, when I bring it up, the first thing I am asked is "Are you a racist?" What the fuck is up with that? Am an American First and foremost, would NEVER betray my country or its beliefs, just a proud of my German Heritage. I mean we could have English, French, Chinese month too or day. Whatever. I am just tired of defending who I am because I am White American of German blood.
