george forman grill

Are these grills any good? Was thinking of buying one, but the thought of an electric grill just doesn't sound right. On my back deck, I have a smoke pit, a charcol and gas grill. I love to grill almost all my food (except rice........for some reason it won't stay on the grate?????) thanks all........JEEP

i break the foreman out when i don't have time to bake my chicken. i usually start cooking the day's chicken breasts right when i get up in the morning for 45mins at 375...but sometimes i don't get up ontime and so i foreman the shit and it only takes 7-8 minutes. also this leaves me more time to whack off in the morning and wipe it on the cat.

I can't eat my meat baked or fried so i need to use a grill and the Foreman grill is great. Chicken breats taste bland and make me gag when i cook them in the oven.

marinate the chicken breasts.
adds flavor - otherwise chicken is way too boring.
but I'd avoid supersizeme's cat basting technique if it is purely flavor you are after.

HELL YEAH!!!

I wack off on my cat too.

Anyway yeah the grill kicks ass big time!

even just use a touch of light salad dressing to marinate... anything.. shake something on your chicken. otherwise blech...

i have a steamer... and i can't live without it when i'm not eating at fast food restaurants (nearly all the time ewww)

it's a tfal double decker thing and i LOVE it. you just walk away from the thing and it dings when ready... you can cook rice and veggies... anything.

and chicken is so tender.

lol. warped man.

hey how do you marinate your breasts? i left the word "chicken" out because it sounds funnier. i am tired of bland chicken.

for my breasts I just rub edge shaving cream over them in a provacative manner... oh wait...

I take a ziplock bag (has to be the brand, lol), I toss in the defrosted hooters, and then pour in Italian dressing until they are all pretty covered in it. then I just let it sit at least 12 hours in the fridge - when you grill it on the foreman it looks like they are getting burned (black lines), but if you taste it, it isn't tough, doesn't taste burnt - it is just the sugars in the dressing getting heated and caramelized.

tastes great. you can use anything to marinate - you just want some sort of oil, some sort of flavoring/spices, and then something to help get that into the meat - vinegar usually - so that is why Italian dressing works so well.

this is what I was referring to - the thing that has been passed around referring to mistranslated ads in other countries - this part specifically:

Frank Perdue's chicken slogan, "it takes a strong man to make a tender chicken" was translated into Spanish as "it takes an aroused man to make a chicken affectionate."

scrappy you're wasting dressing. all you need is a few tablespoons and get the dressing to cover them by just squeezing the ziplock bag to move the dressing around.

ssme i have good recipes for chicken marinades that i can give you if you remind me when i get home in jan...

here's a quick one: balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and seasoning salt.

thanks for the relpies....Should I get the small or large one? I picked up some pre-cooked chicken from Tysons (lemon pepper, plain, ect.) I tried the microwave......but they came out like "chickensicles" (overcooked on the outside-frozen on the inside) nasty! I have hundreds of marinate recipies (I have a degree in Culinary Arts......I think that's why the little lady married me). I make different oils (olive and basil, or sundried tomatto, roasted garlic.....ect) Just want something quick and easy.

I bought the smallest cheapest one - and I regret it. I don't have much counter space, so it is just as well - but it is a pain in the ass to only have enough space for one chicken breast at a time.

also - when you clean it - you will lose the teflon thing that it comes with nearly immediately - but if you just unplug it and wait until it is cool enough that you won't get burned, but still quite warm - you can run a paper towel over it and get all the stuff off and it is a million times easier to clean that way than it is once it is all cooled.

and smalls - I may be wasting some salad dressing, but it costs like $2 for enough to marinate a month's worth of chicken. so I'm not going to get too worked up - plus you never saw how much I used - so step off ;)

thanks HS. i always go to the butcher each week and pick up 8-10lbs of breasts and then i go home and just throw them all in ziploc bags. i will try throwing a little extra love into the bags now. smalls any recipes you have would be appreciated.

I highly recommend the Delonghi Health Grill.

I've seen them priced as low as $59 & $69.

so....

is it a pain in the arse to clean? is it non stick or am i gonna be scraping the fod i eat of it for ages

im looking in to it as i want to have a quick and easy way to cook mah meat :)

(lol @ happy scrappy)

it is easy to clean - just as long as it is warm
once it cools, then yes, it is a pain in the ass to clean.
it is all teflon coated, so the stuff slides off easily.

cool

if they only made teflon keyboards :)

i think ill get one for christmas. ive dropped enough hints, but the things seem damn expensive (like 40 quid!)

we barbecue out here when it's -40C... how does it get too cold dare i ask?

and i bet boston isn't as cold as you say it is hs.. i'll be the judge of that next weekend to tell you you're a big wimp.

just because you live an an igloo and never see any temperatures above freezing :)

BBQ's are meant for SUMMER!!! ya know....the deal with the sunshine and no snow

I know it's the healthiest, but my fav marinade for anything is 50/50 water soy sauce, fresh ginger, a touch of brown sugar, and tons of garlic. If I don't have that I'm also a fan of italian dressing.

Kate

people that know me know that I rarely wear a coat here - I'm usually very warm.
but this weekend at one point I had to resort to a coat - it was too chilly.

and no, Boston isn't as cold as your supreme coldness - but no need to flaunt it. :)

i'll flaunt it alright. i bet my coat will be too warm for your weather. :D

that's no excuse for public nudity.
it may be legal to be topless in public in new york - but they are uptight here.
so even if you are burning up, put some damn clothes on.

Well you people don't know heat. I am talking 30+ days of over 100 degree weather. So yeah I am a wimp when it comes to cold weather, I admit it.
