Hmmm....There are a lot of positive comments but there is also a concern about the cleaning..It seems to be a pain in the butt!

Are there any special tips for cleaning?

Where there are advantages , there are some disadvantages too!

Nothing is perfect!!

The thing claims that it will help you eat healthier and lose weight because it drains the fat from everything you cook. I don't understand how it can help you lose weight, when George Foreman looks fatter and fatter with every new infomercial. :D

Right after you are done cooking, when it is still HOT, drench a sponge and squeeze it out over the grill, then close it quick so it does not splatter. Most of the crap on it gets...well I guess...boiled off. then just wet the sponge again and wipe it down. It's worked for us for over a year with no problems. We do clean it thoroughly once in a while though, just with a sponge and dish soap.

I love mine, I used it so much that I burnt it out, brought it back and they gave me a new one free.

Ive told several people, Id cook cereal on it if I could.

(i know that doesnt make sense, just go with it)

I know you guys are talking about the George Foreman, but i have a GE grill that I got fr. Walmart. It was about $30 or so and it has removable grids.
Works great. Drains off a bunch of the fat. While its still hot I run some cool water (the metal will only absorb the heat of hot water!) on it and sponge off the gunk. I liked that the grids are removable so you can also put it in the dishwasher! Anyone who is thinking bout buying the GF should try this one too.

George Foreman grills and clone grills are great.

I got a walmart brand too, not GE, but it works like a charm. $30-and awesome.

A bit of a pain to clean, but when compared to using a normal grill, its easy.

NFG

I do the same to clean the GF, when its cooling off, I spray some water on it, then whipe it down with a wet cloth or napkin.
