am i correct in thinking that christ himself never said anything about homosexuality?
The statement about "not lieing with a man" was made in reference to the practice of having sex
with temple prostitutes, which was common in the fertility idol worship of Baal.

If homosexuality is such a horrible sin, want to know what the "Law of Moses" Ten Commandments says about it?
NOTHING! ZERO! NADA!
That means if God does consider it a sin, it's further down the list than either "lies" or "disrespect to a parent".

If homosexuality is such a horrible sin, want to know what Jesus said about it?
NOTHING! Big fat zip!

Actually, Jesus paid the biggest complement in the Bible to a (gay) Roman soldier.
The soldier asked for his "servant" to be healed without being in Jesus presence.
Jesus responded the soldiers faith was the greatest he had ever seen.
Recent discoveries show the greek word translated as "servant" would be better translated "boy-toy".
It was a common practice for Roman soldiers to buy boy-slaves to polish their armor, cook their food, make their tents, and "keep their beds warm at night".
Jesus would have known this relationship to exist, but healed the boy anyway, and honored the Roman soldier for his faith.
Jesus had the perfect oportunity to say "Get out of here fag, you disgust me" but he didn't.

That's cruel. I've never said that either. I doubt anyone else that has a kind soul has either.

Please don't think that I'm assuming that a gay person automatically get's thrusted to hell... it's a sin as we all have on our lists... please don't confuse that. I'm not saying there isn't redemption and forgiveness for gay people... but I also can't say that it is 'right.' Whether it's mentioned in the 10 commandments or not. To me, and the majority of the people, it is not right. Neither is stealing, lying, adultery, etc... straight people have sins of their own to worry about... I never implied differently.

If you've got a response to musclebrains' post, I'd like to hear it.

I would thanks musclebrain's for answering the original question to my post. I asked how a gay, religious man how they justify their actions of same sex relationships. Musclebrain's has provided an answer.

I haven't read the complete bible... I am not a preacher.. I don't know all. As I said gymtime... I was reading Roman's last night, found the bit interesting and just wanted a gay religious person to disect the writings of Paul, and explain how they interpret it's meaning. Obviously, most gay people, don't feel it is wrong.

That's all I was looking for, I apologize if I hurt anyone's feelings.
I don't do that to gay's in real life, and try not to on the net either.

Musclebrains, thank you for the info.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........We've discussed that passage a zillion times here. It is not the open-and-shut case you want it to be Crazier. For one of a zillion discussions, from http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_bibc.htm:

The text reads:

"Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another, Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion."

As stated in 2 Peter 3:15-17, we have to be very careful when interpreting the writings of Paul. "As also in all his [Paul's] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." (KJV) As stated by Dr. R.S. Truluck, "Paul's writings have been taken out of context and twisted to punish and oppress every identifiable minority in the world: Jews, children, women, blacks, slaves, politicians, divorced people, convicts, pro choice people, lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transsexuals, religious reformers, the mentally ill, and the list could go on and on. Paul is often difficult and confusing to understand. A lot of Paul's writing is very difficult to translate. Since most of his letters were written in response to news from other people, reading Paul can be like listening to one side of a telephone conversation. We know, or think we know, what Paul is saying, but we have to guess what the other side has said." 1

Cut.... to fit..

The bottom line is that if we read the Bible there are many examples of God unhappiness with homosexuals.
Let us turn to the great book of Genisis. As we begin to read the story of Job.. I think that it is evident.. that is without bringing the elusive writings of Paul into it.

It is my belief that homosexuality in most cases is not a choice, rather a genetic program. I believe that for the most part, homosexuals are born with a predisposition to be attracted to men (or women). Of course, this can be nurtured (or squashed) by the child's upbringing. I don't think that homosexuals make the conscious decision to "be gay."

So in my opinion, God created all of us, and if God allows certain people to be born with a predisposition to homosexuality, how can he then call it a sin? How can He hold against a person what He Himself bestowed upon that person at birth?

So, that's why I don't believe that homosexuality is wrong in the eyes of God.

Let's see. It is legal to discriminate against gay people in hiring and housing. In some states it is still illegal for members of the same gender to be sexual with one another. Gay people cannot marry or openly serve in the armed forces.

Would you care to explain how we have more rights than straight people?
[/QU

I stand corrected. It was those chicks with dicks that I read about that where going to get there own public restrooms not fags.

If Gays would just keep their sex lives to themselves we would have a lot less problems, but they want to march through the streets kissing each other, promoting their lifestyle via television and the media, they want to adopt children and have the government give them "family status" God said he hates homosexuality and he made the world and the rules so they need to argue with him about it being immoral.

Excellent news, Ka-bar, to hear you want to share restrooms with chicks with dicks. You go, dude. Two dicks up for you!

Could you give me God's number to discuss this? Did he tell you he hates homosexuality personally, or did you just ignore the above discussion? By the way, why do you have to parade your heterosexuality here by bashing fags?

im catholic and i dont see a damn thing wrong with gays,if i did i would be a hypocrit because the bible says that god loves everyone equally but these holy rollers treat gays disrespectfully and the church casts them out

this is the only thing i dont like about my religion
