Gay men, how has AIDS affected your sex life?

or a gay female into the rectum of a straight male! lol

My question to you is this ...Why did you only ask this question to Gay men?
Why not just ask the question as a whole group thing. Do you think that our thoughts and fears differ from straight people?
Aids is a difficult thing to live with, I just think that when these conversation stop pointing fingers ( lack of a better thought ) then our world will begin to educate themselves better.
Just something for you to think about .

The reason that I asked about gay men is because the statistics are so stacked against gays. The odds of a hetero male contracting HIV from female vaginal intercourse are so much lower that is not a big concern (gonnorhea, syphilis, etc. are a different story, so I always wear a sock anyway).

I guess my point is that after looking at the HIV statistics, if I were gay I would be terrified to sleep around. I just wondered if there are gay men that that go for abstinance or monogamy due to the risks.

I understand your thoughts....speaking for myself, I have been Positive since 1991. I never did sleep around. I never found that to be my way of life. My first love and I were together for 7 years. I was monogamous to him the entire time. It was not the same for him, he was the one that infected me. Then there was about a 2 year period where I had sex with about 3 other men, all of which were positive. I did not sleep aound because of fear, but rather there was not a connection between the men I dated. Now I am in a fantasic relationship. One that involves only the two of us. There are people out there that don't worry about it. Especially with the younger gay males. They really don't know what having Aids is like. Remember back in the 80's when it was just found in Gay men. There were pictures of Gay men dieing all over the place. They looked scary as hell. There was no real treatment then. Now today, they see healthy looking guys in fantastic shape in ads that say I take such and such medication. They all think that it's okay to sleep around because there is a pill that they can take and they will live a long time if they get infected. So,in some respect it is the drug manufactors fault for displaying those ads.
I could go on about this subject but I'm going to stop here.
I hope this will help.

Although I am a Gay man with AIDS, here in Worcester, Ma there is so much IV drug use that there are more non-Gay based HIV in my city. An odd fact often cited in the MMWR. Thanks and keep the good questions coming, Alan.

If a man is HIV+, I have no problems in dating him, or having sex with him, as long as we have protected sex. So far, it has worked for me. I've been out for 15 years this year, and I am still HIV negative.

Why should one limit themselves on dating HIV negative men, when your soul mate could be HIV+?

ya because their "straight" black husbands and boyfriends are sneaking out and having sex with men and infecting their innocent wives and girlfriends.

I read the same thing on a cnn report. I also read that if you eat peanuts the night before anal intercourse, the condom might rip and tear at the tip because a peanut that was not fully digested made it through the digestive system. Therefore that one peanut could puncture the condom during anal penetration.
