Gas question

Back in earlier days, gas could easily be siphoned out of cars without any trouble.

Do newer cars (say in the last 5-10 years) have any device within the tank to prevent people from siphoning gas? It seems like I remember hearing something about this but have forgotten where I heard it from.

Anybody with knowledge about this please answer.

just punch a hole in the bottom of the gas tank you want to siphon and you will be good to go

You could always get a locking gas cap.

every car i had has required a key &/or pulling a lever from inside to open the gas tank. My 2005 truck I just bought doesn't have either. How retarded is that!?

I think locking gas caps can be broken into.

If you are really concerned about getting your gas stolen, put a bag of sugar down your gas tank while it sits there. That'll teach those bastards to steal once they put it in their vehicle.

i caught a guy stealing gas out of my truck once and putting it into his car and i was like dude you're a fucking idiot that's diesel... im sure people saw his ass driving around w/ black smoke pouring out.. haha!

OH Yeah, I'm Sure of that.......NOT....

they could have some sort of channeled tube down to the tank which wouldn't let a hose all the way down to the gas, but I don't know of any cars that specifically have something like this....
