A few weeks ago it was about $1.78 a gallon for premium, now it is at $1.62 by my house. Well shit, we (you (RyanH & company)) blame Dubya when the prices go up, so now that the prices are down, we (you) should be thanking him.

I'll expect your "Thanks for lowering gas prices Mr. Bush Jr." letters on my desk by morning. Thank you have a nice day.

-Warik

I ONLY PAY FOR MY GAS ABOUT HALF OF THE TIME. SO I AM NOT AS WORRIED ABOUT IT THOUGH I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT GO DOWN AGAIN.

KAYNE

I take the subway to work, so I don't buy gas. And I'll thank Shrub for cheap gas after he fellates me 2-3 times. (after he's done fellating all the board members of Exxon/Mobil, Enron, PG&E, etc. etc., of course.)

detroit has some of the worst prices in the country... we hit over 2.00 just a month or so ago but guess what???

i found 2 stations that are going to war... 1.17 as of last night!!!!!!!!! meiers and kmart gas stations doing battle.. i love them!!!!!!!!

around me its 1.55 a gallon now... but them stations rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Warik--

Wow!!! Bush is doing a great job. Isn't he? 50% approval rating----Wants to increase production of oil---Energy crisis in California. We all know the real solution is exploring other forms of energy sources....i.e. electric cars.

I hope gas prices go back up.....Maybe they'll go through the roof and consequently force us all to step up to the plate and be responsible by using alternative modes of transportation.

I plan on going to the Gulf of Mexico for vacation, I just hope there isn't an oil spill while I'm swimming.

Ryan.

RYAN

.....AND JUST HOW ARE YOU PLANNING ON GETTING TO THE GULF OF MEXICO FOR YOUR VACATION??? ARE YOU GOING TO DRIVE YOUR ELECTRIC CAR??? I THINK NOT!!!

KAYNE

As a matter of fact, my lease is about to expire on my car.....I will in fact be purchasing Honda's electric car.

Why don't you do the same KAYNE/A.C. (ALL CAPS)?

I think you mean your DAD's lease, not your lease. Why should we have to buy one of those ugly ass, piece of shit electric cars.

If I want a SUV, than by god I will have an SUV. This America, we can drive whatever we want.

Bocephus, actually the lease is mine, my Dad only helped with the down payment and the payments.

Should you still be able to drive whatever you want all costs? Regardless of how it effects the environment....Aren't you worried about the ozone. Oh, but let me guess....that's just a bunch of liberal propoganda.

Yes, you still be able to drive whatever you want to. No, I am not worried about the ozone.

Your point? The presidency isn't a popularity contest. As long as he is doing a good job in office, I couldn't care less what his approval rating is.

Wants to increase production of oil

Oh no... how awful. Imagine the tragedy that would result. Gas prices might actually be lower and the U.S. would be less dependent on foreign nations. God forbid!

RyanH said:

So the energy crisis started when Bush became president? Oh no... wait a sec... I didn't know that Californians were having trouble driving their cars. How would electric cars solve California's energy problems? If anything, they would only CAUSE MORE HIGHWAY ACCIDENTS because of the absolutely PATHETIC performance on the vehicles (70 fucking horsepower on the Insight last time I heard) will make merging into highway traffic everyone's daily "brush with death."

Face it, buddy, the blame for California's energy crisis is placed solely on the heads of the members of its Democratic state government. The state government interfered with private business (the power companies) and now it's getting what it deserves (an angry public). It's a damn shame the people on California have to suffer for it, though. Then again, they were the ones who elected Democratic officials who stand exactly one hundred and eighty degrees from what the founders of this country stood for.

Or maybe they'll make the "less fortunate" whom you love so dearly be unable to drive to work, drive their children to school, drive themselves and their children to the doctor, supermarket, etc. Isn't this a little bit hypocritical, my unbelievably-easy-to-verbally-rape friend?

Oh wait, I forgot, you're a so-left-I'm-about-to-fall-off leftist. This means two things:

1) It's OK to be a hypocrite.
2) The above scenario would actually be a GOOD thing for you.

Why would it be a good thing for you? The poor unable to get to work and other places due to insanely high gas prices would result in our borderline Socialist government providing them with help - help that would come from the tax money of the "other" working class (i.e. those of us who work but are not considered part of the "working class"). Of course, there isn't any money for that available at the moment... Oh well, no problem, that could easily be fixed by simply increasing taxes again and undoing any sort of tax cut we just had.

Lovely. Just lovely.

Me too, so you can feel foolish when you realize that there is no real threat of a spontaneous oil spill resulting from increased production. Then again, a leftist has been foolish all his life and still hasn't realized it, so what makes me think one would do so now?

WOW from $2.00 to $1.25 WOW

Look at it this way It raissed to $2.00 from a $1.05 and they have only dropped it down to $1.25 wow how great is bush!!!!

Why don't you open your eyes? Anyone with a respectable level of intellect would have realized that the sole purpose of this post is to poke fun at people who are so quick to cry out: "Blame the president!" whenever something goes wrong in the country, yet don't say a word when something goes right.

Perhaps I can explain it in simpler terms for you.

Gas go up - bad!
People not like gas go up - BLAME BUSH!
Bush not do anything to raise gas - people no understand.
Gas go down - GOOD!
People happy - PEOPLE NOT THANK BUSH!
Warik mention - People act like jackass.

Thanks. You've proven my point.

Why do we need to be dependent on big oil anyway? Other forms of transportation are developing that would reduce our foreign reliance on oil. In short, we are still predominately relying on big oil because of big oil. And of course, the OZONE. I think its wonderful to have the earth overheating...

Electric cars would solve the problem of relying on big oil....government could easily offer funds for more research so that electric cars could become the norm.
CALIFORNIA----everyone knows that Governor Davis has asked the Bush Administration to put price controls on the big profiteering energy companies that Bush is in bed with from his redneck days in Texas. Of course, Bush declined. Price controls are necessary. Look at what happened when the airlines were deregulated. Government is the master of the market, or at least it should be.

Bush could easily end the agony of Californians, but guess what? He's vacationing in his luxurious family home in Maine this weekend, while young mothers and children are embracing for a summer of blackouts. NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL LEADERSHIP and what was the word he used COMPASSIONATE CONSERVATISM...

THAT'S WHAT WE THOUGHT WHEN EXXON ASSURED US A SPILL WOULD NEVER HAPPEN. Now what do we have? A mess we are still cleaning up. Warik, don't you think it's time you wake up from the garbage your conservative media outlets have been feeding you....?

Why don't you do the same KAYNE/A.C. (ALL CAPS)?

BECAUSE MY GASOLINE POWERED VEHICLES ARE DOING ME JUST FINE. I WILL NOT HAVE A ELECTRIC VEHICLE ANYTIME SOON.......TRUST ME!!! I HAVE TWO 8 CYLINDER VEHICLES AND THEY DRINK MUCH GASOLINE. BESIDES THE FACT THAT THEY ARE UGLY, IT IS TOO MUCH TROUBLE TO STOP AND CHARGE THEM ALL THE TIME. WHY BOTHER???

KAYNE

Just out of curiousity... are you mad because....

A) The fact that you're wrong and I pointed it out offends you.

BigJay81 said:

B) The fact that I'm intelligent offends you.

C) The fact that I've never had to say "I FUCKED MY BODY UP AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHATS WRONG WITH ME!!!!!!!!" and "They have said I have epilepsy, Liver disease, Brain Tumor, Edema, Heart Pulpotations, Murmors "SP". Just to name a few!!!" and "I don't know if it is even from AAS. but it sucks big time" and that offends you.

D) All of the above.

Let's clear a few of those misconceptions about me.

1) I've never been to a Star Trek convention.

2) I was picked on for a grand total of 3-4 months in 8th grade, which ceased immediately after a little incident after school. I don't regret it, but I would have handled it differently then had I known what I know now. Would have had much more fun, too.

3) Compared to guys like Arnold, Ferrigno, Coleman, Wheeler, Yates, you are a puny twerp. That's right. They would call you "small." You weigh what? Like 200lbs+? That is not small. That is "smaller" than them. I weigh about 175lbs. That is not small. That is "smaller" than you. An intelligent person would be able to make that distinction, which is why I'm not surprised that you didn't.

One final thing before I go. BigJay81, please flame me again; however, on your next attempt, why don't you try saying something befitting of a 21 year old man as opposed to that of an elementary schoolyard mongrel? Thx.

Aren't you a sad person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have fun making love to your he-man blow up doll!!!!!!!

And yes you are small and you look like a queer

This thread also reminds me of the part in 1984 when the government announces chocolate prices are at an all time low when the year before they were lower.

Meanwhile, back at the point:

The original point after this turned into Pro Wrestling, was that we should thank Mr. President Fucking Einstein for lower gas prices. He went on TV two months ago saying we were in an energy crisis, presenting an energy plan modeled after Exxon/Mobil's annual report. Suddenly (because of increased production), we're not. And, while we're at it, California's summer energy crunch never happened, becuase of increased production. Lower gas prices & lower electricity = companies decided to start producing again. That's all. Shrub is an idiot and a corporate whore, but he didn't create an energy crisis. After all, he's barely capable of finishing a complete sentence.
