Garbage Disposal

Good idea for a forum.

How hard is it to change out a garbage disposal? Mine just died, and I need to replace it. I will steer clear of Clarkman's, but what other brands are decent? Is this something that I could install? I am not a great handy man, but I try.

Basic plumbing knowledge like changing a p-trap BUT alot of disposals are hardwired to the electrical circuit. Few are plugin. either way be sure to turn the power off at the source!! if you are not certain call a certified electrician.
Basically the disposal unit has a connecting gasket near the top and and outlet port for all the ground up goodies. you may or may not need to change the drain in the bottom of the sink (this is not difficult,a large ring nut and a gasket) the outlet also has a ring nut that goes into the trap.

Badger brand is pretty good.
If you pay a little extra the warranty is very good.
Cause if something happens to it they will give you a brand new one.
