Full or partial ROM for you!

On the majority of your bodybuilding exercises, would you say you do full ROM or mostly partial (not locking out, not all the way down, etc).

I'm really torn on this issue so I'm looking for opinions and info on to why you prefer which.

Hypertrophy of the sarcomere occurs due to the damage done to them by lifting weights, right? So instead of taking a lighter weight and moving it through a total range of motion, wouldn't it be more productive (damaging to the contractile protiens) if you took a heavier weight but only moved it across the sticking point, or hardest part of the ROM?

The energy saved by only doing a smaller ROM would allow higher reps with a heavier weight than you could use by doing a full ROM.

But I'm sure there's a good arguement for a full ROM, which is why I'm asking :)

Partials are good for overloading a muscle, but they shouldn't be used all the time.

Full ROM is the best way to train a muscle.

my personal feeling is that you need to combine them

use an effective range of motion
i think this is what you are looking for
not looking out, to keep from having those rest points
this doesn't mean onlu doing 50% of a movement, it means using 80-90% of the movement
you want to use as much of the movement as you can without releaving tension
