Now that Bush has opened up a sizable lead over John Kerry, the Press has taken off the kid gloves and opened up a coordinated assault on Bush:

1) Carville and Begala now advising Kerry (but not leaving CNN!)

2) Celebrating the mark of 1000th US casualty in Iraq as if it were a national holiday

3) Rehash of Bush's National Guard Record although there is nothing new about it

4) Under reporting and down-playing the significant bounce Bush got from the fantastic GOP convention

5) Collective wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth over the state of Kerry'[s campaign on the part of Judy Woodruff, Katie Couric, Chris Matthews, Matt Lauer, Tim Russert, et al.

Bush will still win handily. :)

Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build all the bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks.

You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly.

Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain.

You fasten all the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion'
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud.

You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins.

How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
That even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do.

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul.

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand over your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead.

Sizeable? :FRlol:

This is funny as well.

The only thing sizeable about bush is his loss of brain cells from coke abuse.

Longhorn85,

How do you feel about the fact that he violated a direct order from his base commander and did not report for his annual physical?

Agreed, HomeSlice Kerry is about to lose if he doesn't:

1.) Give up on thigns that happened 30 years ago (his record and Bush's).

2.) Develop a platform.

3.) Stop celebrating the 1000th deaths.

4.) Stop trying to compete with Bush on the "War on Terror", the people are with Bush there.

What does he need to focus on?
His platform.
His voting record, while flip-floppy, it isn't a BAD record.
He needs to develop and explain his foriegn policy, he can beat Bush there.
He needs to outline his health care reform ideas, he can beat Bush there too.

Full Court Fear.

Terrifying the country into believing. Works for Ol' Time Religion, will probably work for the New American Century.

Nothing more than a typical post convention bounce. This thing will be tight till the end.

But Kerry needs to stop being cute with his responses if he expects to win. Him and a bunch of other senators, including daschle, keep shooting themselves in the foot trying to take both sides in the Iraq war issue. people can smell bullshit, and thats what they are shoveling out. No one likes wafflers in positions of leadership

Kerry refuses to stake a claim anywhere and stick to it on any issue, and it is showing

Not many candidates get a double digit bounce.

And Kerry didn't get *any* bounce after his.

He is such a pain in the ass. I wish that most of the Dems and near all of the Reps would have a meeting with Jews For Jezus and The Nation of Islam and get swallowed by a black hole.

Nearly clean slate. Lets get to work.

Well that promise (or whatever it was) to stay out of political threads didn't last very long.

My self-imposed hiatus lasted exactly as long as I said it would. Until the Olympics and GOP convention were over. You didn't think I'd miss the opportunity to see liberals go down in flames would you? :)

We will all be alive when the whole show goes down, you should enjoy that.

If that's how it went down he should have been punished by the commander to an appropriate extent. I don't know if the commander reprimanded him or not.

Bush has admitted many times that he made some mistakes when he was younger. He learned to fly jets, then clearly lost interest after a few years and no doubt deliberately came off of flight status so he could get involved in a friend's political campaign and pursue an MBA at Harvard. Not like he burned his draft card and escaped to Canada.

He served when most did not and was honorably discharged. LET IT GO!

I will enjoy it, regardless of who wins. I remember how I felt the "morning after" in Nov of 92. Disappointed, but life is what you make it, not the dude sitting in oval office.

Aye. I survived Reagan and Bush One, I will surely get through this lesser man.

Code: Kerry was already sporting a considerable lead at the time if I recall correctly. it's the same old same old.

You're also deluding yourself if you imagine Bush is actually experiencing anything more than a 3-4 point lead. He'l win, but in a close race, provided nothing major happens between now and then. It is amusing though witnessing the entire media community clsoing ranks behind Kerry and giving up even the semblence of objectivity. They have decided Bush must go.

Chef: LMAO

It was inevitable given the democratic primary. I could have supported Joe Lieberman. If I were the dems I would have picked cover boy Edwards. The dems freaked once again and chose the "war hero" even they didnt like. Guy has no charisma or courage.

Bush is too much like his dad for me to ever really like. But hes personable, and at least on national security decisive (albeit arguanbly wrong). And gosh darn it, people like him

did you say 'sheeple'?

Thus the name of this thread. I don't find it amusing at all though. Thank God for Fox News and talk radio. It's amazing Bush has a chance at all.

Ah. I guess I should have read the actual thread, I just read the title.

It goes to his character and his "Friends" wife has said the family sent him to Alabama to work on the campaign to get him out of Houston and basically unplug his nose from all the coke he was snorting.
