how the hell do you lose to unranked arkansas at the end of the season and still get to play for the mythical national championship? geeeaaawwwd! i'm so sick of all this bowl-shit. . .get it?? :FRlol:

get it. who should have played instead of them

honestly?? no one will ever know the real answer without at least an 8 team playoff. . .i personally favor a 16 team palyoff. . .

LSU had a tough schedule in a tough conference though and had some good wins.

both their games they lost in OT..

The other teams are just as suspect.

I don't see how the ncaa can remain anti playoff. Every other college sport does it, and it would add so much more excitement.

simple $$$$$$$$, or at least that is what the argument is i think
Like they wouldn't make money on a playoff? They could just incorporate the "bowls" into the play off, semifinals = rose bowl, sugar bowl.

hawaii would get romped by LSU....

i think georgia's going to beat them, but i'm rooting for hawaii anyways.

moreno is going to have a day against them...

ya mean like michigan romped appalachian state??

sadly. . .we'll never know if your opinion holds water. . .every week the greatest football minds in our country picked the top teams, and every week they were wrong. . .without a playoff, it's just mental masterbation. . .at this point, the debate is just annoying and tiresome. . .i love college football and, honestly, i couldn't give two shits who wins any of the bowl games and i'm pretty sure i won't watch any of them. . .i'm uninspired and i think there's a bunch of other people out there just like me. . .it's a shame. . .a division 1-a football playoff would be the most exciting tournament on the planet and everything else would pale in comparison. . .

the thing that sucks is that when you step back and look at #1 through #16, you don't see anything approaching an odds-on favorite. . .in fact, there's half a dozen teams, easy, that could win the whole enchilada. . .

true, but the difference is in all these ranked teams is Ohio State dominated every team they beat and the one they lost was only by 7 points

Youngstown State W 38-6
Akron W 20-2
at Washington W 33-14
Northwestern W 58-7
at Minnesota W 30-7
No. 23 Purdue W 23-7
Kent State W 48-3
Michigan State W 24-17
No. 25 Penn State W 37-17
No. 21 Wisconsin W 38-17
Illinois L 28-21
No. 21 Michigan W 14-3

thats a pretty dominating season if i've ever seen one

meh. . .i got no beef with ohio state. . .or lsu for that matter. . .the current system just sucks all the life out of it for me. . .there's no excitement. . .for me (and everyone else outside of ohio and louisiana), it's the Who Gives a Shit Bowl. . .it ought to be decided on the field like it is in every other sport and every other division. . .i'm a big fan, but i'll be damned if i let the BCS/NCAA tell me what to think. . .

there gunna change the system within the next few years

can't happen soon enuff for me. . .i'm 43 friggin' years old. . .it would be nice if they did it while i still have the mental capacity to enjoy it. . .

Respectable season by any standards. But not a championship season.

Big 10's only #6 as far as the conferences rank.

I'm with digi on the necessity of a playoff system.
I like 16 team. Get rid of conference championship games as well.

a 10 game season for everybody. . .with a 16 team playoff, that's only 14 games total for the 2 teams that make it to the championship game. . .

That will better prepare players for the nfl. Having more games. Also playoffs ensure the best talent plays the best talent, which should help too.

LSU gains a big tactical advantage by this game being held in the Superdome. They in no way deserve this game over UGA.

because they fuckin deserve it

look how many french names r on that team

16 team playoff would not help NCAA teams/viewers at all

1. Playoff that long would diminish a ton of interest in the regular season
2. It would take away players intensity/drama during the regular season due to the fallback that they "still have the playoffs"
3. They would become even more commercialized and professionalized
4. 16-team, four-round playoff would last to long and actually carrying into most colleges final exams and extend the season into the second semester, putting ridiculous pressure on players

4-8 teams at most

I could see 8 teams being a good compromise.

2. It would take away players intensity/drama during the regular season due to the fallback that they "still have the playoffs" PROBABLY. . .MEH. . .CAN'T HAVE EVERYTHING

3. They would become even more commercialized and professionalized IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE??

ONE IN A MILLION GETS TO MAKE IT TO THE SHOW, AND THEY'VE HAD PLAYOFFS FOR YEARS.

Bro... last year OS was hailed as 'greatest team ever' & looked what Fl did to them. > OS should have fallen more than 3 spots after losing to ILL. Look what happened to Kansas & Mizzou after losing to HIGHER ranked teams than Ill. You cant say strength of schedule; OS schedule is weak. They would be a mediocre team in SEC.
