Here is the best I have been able to come up with when I'm out of town. 24 hour fitness for 15 dollars will let you use their gym for 24 hours, so thats good for 2 workouts if timed right. It kind of nice to try a different gym now and then.

we have a cool gym in this small town in bama..VIP members get a key and go in whenever..I'm often alone after 9PM..bring my own CDs and crank what I want..I'm planning on a monster set of about 10 sets of deadlifts xmas day..and I won't be listening to any xmas music while doing them..probably some Henry Rollins

That can happen at privately-owned, small gyms, where the owner(s) have to go out of town, and don't have anyone trusworthy to run the asylum while they are gone. Still..that is about as shitty a business move though, as Coke changing its' formula. I'd find a new gym and fast!

Maybe if you know the owner well enough, he might agree to give you a key while he is gone. It's worth a shot, if there isn't any other gyms close to you.

I switch gyms for shits and giggles at least once every three months..........sick of seeing the same people and it's a great change of pace.....matter of fact, on a nuts note, I go to the Jewish Center on X-mas day when all the other gyms are closed........little extreme, I know.......
