Front Squats- How Do You Do Them???

Cross armed

Reverse curl grip put too much strain on my wrists

I think non of them is better

choose the one you feel more comfortable with
 
I also do it cross-armed. However, if you can learn to do it the other way I think it's better. That then allows you to move into performing some Olympic lifts which use that grip, and the Oly lifts give lots of benefits.

That's the exact reason I have been doing them with a clean grip. It helps strengthen my wrists and helps with the "catch" of a power clean.
My power clean numbers have consistantly gone up since I started doing front squats withe clean grip regularly.
 
cross armed for me

but i'm not a power lifter or olympic lifter, so i'm not as worried about using it to help other lifts
 
clean grip.. the crossed armed grip is a little risky-- the heavier you go-- more chance of the bar rolling forward (out of your hands)
