From Autumn to Ashes

Anyone listen to this band?
Their songs aren't really my 'type' of music (screaming lol), but they have 4 songs that I really like:

'Autumn's Monologue' which is sung by a female guest singer...gorgeous voice & gorgeous song
'The Fiction We Live' (actually a response to Autumn's Monologue)
'Short Stories with Tragic Endings' (GREAT song...the same female vocalist sings on this song, although it's not just her...)
'Chloroform Perfume'

I'd never heard of the band till a friend recommended them. Even though most of their songs aren't my kinda music, I really like the aforementioned songs, which deviate from their 'usual' style of music a bit. Beautiful lyrics, as well, although they're a bit hard to make out in most of their songs.

If they never released anything after their first two and they booted that whiny dick of a lead singer out of the band, they'd be okay.

To date, Fiction We Live is one of the worst things I've ever had to review.

LOL. I bought that CD and traded it back in the next day. Terrible. I like the song "The After Dinner Payback" but that is the only song by them I like. I do have to admit, the clean vocals are awful. I thought it was the drummer who did the clean vox (Atreyu clone), but I could be wrong.

I haven't heard all the songs on The Fiction We Live. I'd say my favourite songs by them are 'Short Stories...' and 'Autumn's Monologue.'

Do you know who the female vocalist on those two tracks are?

Never mind, the female vocalist who sings in 'Short Stories...' and 'Autumn's Monologue' is Melanie Wills from the band One True Thing... Never heard of her - or them - till now

One True Thing are pretty crappy. She should move in and take over lead vocals for FAtA.

I still listen to Too Bad You're Beautiful once or twice a year since it had some good catchy songs (Royal Crown, Reflections) but their impact and the effect they had on music is goddamn unforgivable.

they are the epitome of a niche band that never had much talent, and now that the Emo kids realized how ridiculous they were, it's got even less of an audience... Live, they are horrid.

New shit. Production is too clean. Nothing intersting happens. Boring "been there too many times" guitar work. No annoying clean vocals though. Anyone getting a strong Thrice but even safer (not sure that's possible, but...) feel?
