Found a wallet containing 200 dollars today

Yarg!

Platinum Membership gift from THE BOMB SQUAD!
With Id and everything. I'm gonn amail it back to the person tomorrow , using their money to pay for the postage. I will attach a receipt of the cost of the post, and only take that amnt of money + enclose all the change back in it. Unless someone here can convince me otherwise, MUAHAHAHA

That's something that most others wouldn't even fathom doing. I wish someone would return my lost wallet. Luckily it didn't have money in it.

Give it back. I found a wallet 2 months ago with $60 in it and returned it. The owner of the wallet was so happy and thanked me profusely ;). I felt really good being honest.

Thank god, I was worried sick! That is the 3rd time this year I lost it, thank goodness for people like you finding it and returning it to me. I'll pm you my address. k4u

damn it's nice that all you orientals find each other's wallets.

I am not oriental and neither was the owner of the wallet I found. I am caucasian Australian.

Aww man when I looked in my profile and I saw that you had the last post on my thread, I prepared myself for an inane comment trying desperately to pass off as humor. Luckily I was not dissapointed.

You never know how bad the person may need that money. What if it's their rent money? Bad Karma to keep it or something like that.

Good man. I found a wallet on a plane once with about $1700 in cash, credit cards and everything you could need. Turned it into the stewardess. Just told her to tell the guy to be more careful.
I could have had a blast with that cash.

Just pay the 1 dollar out of your pocket and send it back. It's ok to be the nice Guy.
However there are not to many honest people out there these day's, so I'm Proud of you!!!

$ 200 less the usual fees

- $ 26.48 postage
- $ 5.00 handling
- $ 2.00 shipping
- $ 12.47 insurance
- $ 11.68 standard wallet tax
- $ 43.34 state tax
- $ 20.00 wallet inspector fee
- $ 76.94 administration fees
________

$ 197.91 Total

So she should recieve her wallet containing $ 2.09 in 6 to 8 weeks.

Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside when you do something good for someone else.

I'd try and get in touch with her as soon as possible to avoid her trying to get new ID etc... I don't think she'd trust anyone even if the CC were still there. You just can't do that these days, even if it was returned. sad...

But great job on returning it. Maybe she's hot and you two get married and live happily ever after... 5 kids, minivan, softball and ballet practice... omg!

i believe it was you who told the story of the fellow who lost his 5 dollars for lunch that day and broke down weeping, that story has stuck with me ever since, still makes me tear up when i think of it

You are a good guy. Returning that money is the thing to do. Like someone else said, that could be someone's rent, car payment, etc. You will feel good about yourself for doing it. I always tell others, imagine if it was your wallet that got lost. So, good job on being honest bro.

there was a point where id consider taking the money, but last year I lost my wallet and it was returned with all the cash and everything, so from then on, I would never question returning it with everything still there.

unless it was someone i knew and didnt like.. then id go to town

send the ID to their parents and be like "I have your son ranson, give me 100,000 dollars and i will let them go safetly, if you attempt to contact them or the police, i will begin mailing him to you, piece by piece"

oh yeah, i broke this guys window when he wasnt home and i didnt live anywhere near there, but i left a note with my address and number under his door.

turned out the family was moving literally the next day to a different state and we wrote them a check for the window money. they were so greatful they drove across the town to my house on their way out of town to pick up the check, and in return gave me a gift certificate to boarders for half the price of the window (50$).

the father said something like "honesty is a rare and precious commodity, may you grow up to have a wonderful life"

it felt good

always gotta give it back, go out of the way to get it back to the owner...bad karma sucks
