Forgot to swab the area b4 injection!

man oh man you guys are gonna stress this fucker out, again in 8 years with literally THOUSANDS of injections i've never once swabbed my skin, the stopper yes, but never my skin.......and i've taken as many as 21 shots in one day before, 8 shots of PGF2 in each arm, 2 shots of IGF and 2 shots of HGH along with a shot of test/eq etc

If its red, warm to touch, bumpy and painful Go to ER immediately. Fever is accompanied with it also. Always wipe the stopper and where you injecting at. Always aspirate when you inject and for sake never use a injection twice. Good Luck!

I've used a needle three times. I kept drawing blood so I'd pull out and stick again. Third time I got no blood so did the injection and then got a huge gobbet of blood when I pulled out. I guess on the third one, instead of sticking into a vein I'd gone straight through one.

Chances are you'll be fine mcfakerton. If not then you'll handle it and move on. It's all part of the deal when you decide to use.

I would think that you will probably be fine...But I think it would be a good practice to do it every time.

I don't think I have ever forgotten to swab the top or the skin.

I have stuck, pulled out and re-stuck with the same pin though.

I with drrman on this one, I know it's a good practice, hell I'm a RN and work with surgeons that don't even swab bottles/skin. I honestly don't even bring alcohol preps home anymore. You got those natural macrophages working for you. I usually inj after a shower.

Allrighty, I just popped my cherry into my right quad moments ago.

I washed my hands thouroughly, popped the top off the vial (brand new), loaded the syringe (1 cc of Sust) , let a couple of drops of oil run down the needle, and poked it into my quad about 1.25". I aspirated for a couple of seconds and then pushed the oil into me. I'm officially a juicer.

The steps I forgot (and was prepared for, damnit) was to swab my injection area and rubber stopper with alcohol beforehand.

I'm hoping it doesn't end up being a big deal (abscess), but I can't believe that I forgot to do it. Excited I guess...

All in all it was fairly lackluster. I've never been afraid of needles so the thought of injecting never scared me, the only time I hesitated was right before I poked, and only for a second.

So, did I fuck up big time, or do I just need to remember to swab beforehand next time?

Also, any tips for keeping the pain in the quad down. It doesn't hurt at all right now, but I imagine later it will.

More than likely you will be just fine, just remember next time.

The bacteria normally found on your skin, staph areaus (spelling), if not swabbed correctly could , small chance be injected into your tissue, were it is not normally found, causing an infection, staph infection, which could lead to an abscess.

I have started so many IV, gave many shots, swabbing the site as well as the vial is second nature to me. I guess it can be taking for granted.
