forearm pain

lately i've been experiencing severe pain in my forearms after doing barbell curls...at first the pain only occured when i was finished with my set and put the weight down. but as of late i feel it when benching as well and even in daily life now.
anyone have any idea what might be wrong and/or tips what i can do about this?
thanks in advance

This is very common if you're using a straight bar for curls. I would recommend using a cambered curl bar. If the pain persists, you may need a little time off. Ice definately helps with the inflammation. Good luck!

I had that real bad for awhile. I had to stop doing ez-bar curls and move onto other bicep exercises.

I'm thinking about not training arms directly for a while, see how that goes...thanks for the replies

This is the forth time I answer a post this week concerning this subject but here I go Again.

I have the same pains, doesnt hurt so much when I perform the excersize but when I put the bar down and loosen the grip. Anyway I started using straps around my elbows and it really helped me... give it a try.

straps around the elbows eh...? well i've got nothing to lose so i'll try it, thanks for the tip.

I used to get that, I think mainly due to preacher curls. I just stopped doing any barbell curls for awhile and the pain went away. Now I don't have a problem.

thanks for the link to the 'straps' and the tips bros, i'll refrain from direct arm training for a while and if the pain persists, i'll try those strap-type thingies...and definitely seeing a doc tomorrow

ive had same troubles for years now. I stopped using barbell and easy bar all together and i have no pain at all with just dumbbells. Everytime I try to go back to easy bar, the pain comes back. weird huh?

hmmm that IS weird...but i have to say that the pain is less (not completely absent though) when i use dumbells as well...

I used to be able to aggrivate it on benches over 220 on my right hand. I layed off it, and readjusted my benches so that most of the weight is kept off the weak part of my wrist (the pain was in the backhand). Seems to be working so far. Have to be careful.

I used to get the same pain, just stopped curling for a while, and the pain went away. After the event i found out by doing close grip barbell curl - pain come back .. i dont bother with that one any more.
