Ford tarus

[paradox]

The key for a ford tarus contain a computer chip & without that chip the car doesn't start.....the chip in my key seems to be damaged.....does anyone know if you have to send away for a new key or if you can obtain one at a dealership?

Probably just a resistor pellet, thats how the GM keys work. You can fool it by ripping apart the steering column and using a resistor, you may be able to clean the key and get it to work (alcohol), or go to the dealer and they will make a duplicate for you, usually $25 or so, depending on how bad the dealer is on bending you over.
