For you accutane users

How long did it take for you guys to see results? ALso, what dosages were you taking?

Just curious because I just began a 5 month doctor prscribed cycle starting at 40 mg/day

First, it got a little worse because all the acne below the skin surfaced. After about 2 months I was totaly clear but have red marks where all the acne was. I'm at about 2 and half months right now. Marks haven't cleared yet. They look pretty shit. I'm told they clear up once you're off the accutane. All in all, its an amazing drug. It's got a bad rap but the sides (in my case anyways) weren't so bad. Just get your blistex ready. Though there's a website completely dedicated AGAINST accutane. They blame like 300 deaths on it.

I just started taking it....40 mg for 5days and then 20mg for 10 days. I am on my 6 th day of 20 mg and my whole body are clear. Back when I was in High School and under doctor supervision I took 40mg for 5 months. Some side effx i had back then were Very dry skin, nose would occasionally bleed, sometimes my ass will bleed (dumping).

your acne will worsen for a while, especially since you cant get sun and all your underlying acne is surfacing. your skin will get really dry, your lips will crack, and you might get nosebleeds, but after a few months, its like a miracle when everything gets clear. i havent personally used it but friends have and id say the end result is worth it
