My father smoked from 16 - quit when he was about 60. I had severe asthma all my life and just thought it was normal but he moved out of the house when I was about 15 and voila - it all went away.

He had a heart attack when he was 70 and I went in to talk to the Dr after his bypass. Doc asked - is your Father a heavy smoker? I said no, he quit over 10 yrs ago. He said, oh that is too bad because his heart and lungs are still completely black - FUCK ME. That is nasty.

Yeah, I dated 2 smokers in my life. My kisses with them became tight lipped and infrequent just because I didn't enjoy tasting nasty cigarette residue when I kissed them. Plus, the other one drank Jack Daniels all the time. I DESPISE bourbon. the smell of it makes me queasy. He finally understood why I didn't like to kiss him when I made a drink for him one day and spilled a little JD on my hand. I SCRUBBED my hands in the sink to get that smell off of me.
