I maintain a few websites, and i know it's a bitch (I couldn't imagine 40,000 users) I also realize that it's proably not getting enough bandwidth to support all the users, and the constant requests being made to the server....

But if you guys want to eliminate all the double, triple, quadruple!!!!, and so on posts that have been ocuring, it's as simple as adding about 5 lines of javascript to a few of your pages. There are ways to disable a button as soon as it has been pressed. This will not allow anyone to hit sumbit multiple times, which is causing the redundant posts...

You can find example scripts all over the net, and if you need help drop me an e-mail....

I think they already have that...cuz whenever you normally post, then try to post again real quick, it says you can only post once every 30 seconds.

these fuckers must be hitting that reply button like 20-30 times in under the time limit for the 30 second warning then. cuz there are like 5-30 posts of the same shit day after day.

yeah, i started to catch on to that method myself. or have another window open to elite and pop over there and refresh the screen. but to be sure your message went through, even when you hit reply you got to give it a little while to post up before messing around.
