For my Mom

a creed

Banned
As many of you know, it's been a tough few months for me, and it has "really" taken a toll on my goals, my body, diet, etc.
Up until last night - I didn't think I would "ever" get back into the shape I was before a horrible car accident 5 years ago....

My Mother recently had open heart surgery to replace a leaky heart valve with a Titanium one.............the whole time I watched how much pain she was in, and more than once I thought she would just pack-it-in and "let-go", (I wouldn't have blamed her a bit)

Just yesterday she had to go back to the Hospital and get hooked up to one of those portable heart monitors, cause her heart has been racing a bit lately.

I went to see her last night and instead of talking about herself, she told me that if she had (1 wish) - it would be that I get back on track and hit my goal of 8% bf by this April.

Just so happens her Birthday is in April, so as a gift to my Mom - I am giving up all things in my life that contribute to my "missing" any of my goals.

I'm not just going after it,...............I'm gonna "kill-it"

Sorry if I took up too much of your time..........

Go for it! stay positive at all times and be strong..

Good luck with it sweetie..

Thanks guys/gals - I could really use your support over the next few months.

Would you guys/gals mind posting up some tricks/methods you use to stay focused and on point with diet/cardio/daily stress/etc..........

I used to be able to get it all right, but now it seems like I'm just "missing" something.

Either way, thanks for you comments......

Later.

I need to go back to "basics" - like when we used to have lifting partners who were only your friend until you walked through the gym doors...........................

then you hated each other for an hour..........

Did you just actually apologize for "taking up my time"? You helped me to feel human!!! It is I that thank you for that.

Now then allow me to say that your mother is an incredible lady (but then again - you already know that!). There is NOTHING that brings happiness to a mother more than to see her children happy and succeeding regardless of what those goals might be. I dont know what I can do to help you, but I do know how hard it is to stay focused on a goal like this when "life" seems to have gotten the best of you but if there is anything I can do as far as lending words of support or offering the little "tricks" that I have used in the past to try and stay on track - just PM or email me.

I wish you and your mother happiness and all things good and the strength to weather the storm.

Thank you for sharing yourself with us. Helps us to regain and maintain our humanity.

What motivates me is going back through some of my pictures logs. I see how I looked 3 years ago and it is very motivating. Or I'll look at pics of last year after my 6 month lay off and that gets my ass right up. I also enjoy watching some training videos of shawn ray, arnie, ronnie and the boys. Good luck, with your size being 8% bf, you'll be severly jacked.

Yes she is home

The valve was replaced cause the leaky valve's fluid made it so she couldn't catch her breath.

That part is fine, but now they are trying to figure out why her heart "races" at least once a day.

I hope your mom pulls through bro. Just remember to enjoy the time you have with her, and tell her you love her at the end of every conversation. When my mother passed just over a year ago, I had a phone conversation, having no idea that my mother was not going to be around for the next 20 years, the last thing I said to her was "I love you, and I'll talk to you later". My sister had a fight with her that day, and she felt really guilty over it. For me knowing that I told my mother I loved her the last time we spoke means something to me still.
