I know that is a Foo Foo dog.

Don't forget to check your local animal shelter. You may get lucky and better yet, save a life. Consider a mutt too. Less health problems and they live longer, usually.

When I was young I had 10 dogs at once.
My mom says I used to go around the neighborhood with
hotdogs, to collect all the strays, and bring them home.. LOL

But I want something very small..

Big Satan I also thought about a pit bull, I love how
they look and I would be protected..
But the neighborhood I live in now, has a lot of
kids.. And I don't want any law suit against me..
Dogs have to be leashed here.

A pit bull or any dog raised properly in a loving home will not be a problem with kids. My daughter and all her friends play with our dog all the time and they're fine-------as long as they don't make any sudden moves! Only kidding!

I have two lhaso apso's right now and they are considered foo foo dogs by some. They are some of the most loyal dogs I have ever had. They do get a bit loud when strangers come around.

I also have siissy, the dog in my avatar. I got her from a local shelter and she is a trip. Most shelters don't get too many real small dogs in, but you might want to check, you might get lucky and find one.

HI is on the money... Also contact your local taxidermist and see if they have any stuffed dogs. Those don't poop either.

Small dog breeds in general just piss me off. I want to use them as footballs for fieldgoal practice.


I use to own cocker spaniels, they're a pretty good breed if you get a line that hasn't been inbreed to death.

Your dog is a mixed breed which makes it a mutt, thrown into the shelter because nobody wanted it. BTW, your whole family is in the "vet biz"? They would know statistically that other breeds are more likely to bite humans.

Yes, all mutts should be euthanized so they can't accidently contaminate the blood lines of pure bred dogs. I also am pro euthanasia for humans unworthy of the race.

I have raised, trained, and judged Am. Pitbull Terriers for 30 years! I also write for 3 different canine publications, and the information you posted from the "Vets" in your family could NOT be further from the truth!!
There are SOOO many other breeds MORE likely to bite a person than an APBT!
Trust me, I WILL be back to post a temperment test performed on SEVERAL breeds (NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY PITBULL ASSOCIATION)
It was PROVEN that pitbulls are LESS likely to bite a human, and harder to provoke than the MAJORITY of other breeds!!!

hehe almost hate to chime in here. English Mastiff for me. BigSatan was right about mine though, he's cool till you move. Then SNAP, if it was the wrong move, he's got your ass. Awesome dog but you better get them out into the public so they are trusting of people. Mastiff, baby. Pits really are great dogs. Mine got smoked by a snowplow. It took a snowplow to kill his ass, too.

I have a pomeranian and have had one for about 5 years. They are the cutest things alive for their entire lives, but unebelievably so when they are puppies. They are incredibly friendly. Mine is a bit of a lard ass, to say the least, but he rocks. Teddy is his name o. I have had a lot of dogs, big and small, with my family before, and surprisingly Teddy is probably my favorite. Pomeranians rock.

Can't wait to see this study. By the way, a Bull Terrier is a different breed from a Pit Bull. If I actually gave a fuck, I'd hunt down some of my own studies or the TONS OF FUCKING ARTICLES depicting Pit Bulls snapping children and adults, alike. You want to fucking defend pit bulls, fine. That's your perogative. There's far too many breeds out there to have even a remote chance of having my dog snap should a small child pull his/her tail. Besides, the amount of pressure the dog can apply by it's massive jaws are incredible and it takes a machine to pry those clamped down jaws apart. There are incidents of other breeds, but to say a Pitt BUll is safer than a Golden Retriever, for example is foolish, indeed, so bring these stupid reports.

He can fetch, plays catch and chase, "barks", very friendly, very sensitive to me and will come get my attention if something is wrong. He also does not need to be walked and can poop in his own litter box. He also sheds and hacks up hair balls w/ the best of them. He does NOT pee on the floor or poop in my shoes either. He likes to chew my sox but stays away from the expensive shoes. Also very loyal and my best bud!

"pitbull" is a slang term used for any fighting breed that is a result of a cross with the old bull dog types!
Terriers were used for "ratting" and bulldogs were used for "bullbaiting".
The terriers were fast and fierce, but lacked the physical substance! Bulldogs were STRONG and thick, but lacked wind, and fierceness! (kinda like you)!
The two were crossed, and called "half & halfs" or "bull and terriers" soon shortened to "bull terriers". This cross originated in Staffordshire england, thus the name Staffordshire Bull terrier.
In the many years since, they've been "custom" bred to produce:

Bull terriers (AKC)
Staffordshire bull terriers (AKC)
American staffordshire terriers (AKC
American Pitbull terriers (ADBA, UKC)

All diff breeds, but all pitbulls !

The APBT is, contrary to popular belief, very human-friendly and will not naturally be aggressive towards humans. The APBT is, however, very loyal and eager to please, so that if an owner wants a dog to be aggressive toward humans and reinforces this behaviour from an early age, the dog will most likely be aggressive towards humans as an adult.

Many people equate or confuse aggressivness towards other dogs with aggressivness towards humans. A 6-year study in Palm Beach County of "most severe dog bite by breed" shows the top 10 breeds who have been identified in this comparison.


1988: APBT ranked 9th w/9 per cent of bites
1989: APBT ranked 5th w/15 per cent
1990: APBT ranked 5th w/16 per cent
1991: APBT ranked 9th w/10 per cent
1992: APBT ranked 2nd w/20.4 per cent (w/cocker spaniel showing in 1st)
1993: APBT ranked 5th w/16 per cent

Some of the breeds which placed above the APBT were Dalmations, Chows, Labs, Goldens, Rotties, Dobermans, and the afore-mentioed Cocker Spaniel.

In a 1993 study, also in Palm Beach County, the bites were ranked by severity from 1 to 4 and the animal that was recorded as having inflicted the greatest number of severe bites was the domestic short-haired cat. A breed labelled as "pit bull" was in 5th place, following cat, German Shepherd, Chow and Lab.

But I wouldn't be able to carry it around when it got big..

Went to shelter yesterday, didn't find what we were looking for.
Thinking we will go to a larger shelter today..
