? for anyone who has taking ACSM test

I recieved 3 books for their study kit, and the one book is a 300 page medical book with some seriously in depth information in it. For anyone that has taking the test, what kind of questions can I expect?

Not a single person here has taken this test? Im guessing most must have some pretty cheap certs then....

The test is a tough one. It has many questions with all the right answers and you must choose the one MOST correct. Study and it will be tough. Don't study and it will be impossible. The test also has a practical part with BF testing and BP measuring. Study up. I am currently ACE, CSCS and ACSM certified.

Well I've talked to a few people who are majors in exersise science and they have failed the acsm test. They told me the books are basically 2-3 years worth of college courses. Since it's not going to be my career I really don't see a point in studying for 6 months to make money that could be made more easily.

Too bad. Yes you need a BA or BS to get CSCS. And to respond to needing a degree or studying for 6 months for the exam. Well, the test was tough. My degree is in Secondary Phys Ed and Coaching. I studied, but not 2-3 years worth of college. Just get your A.C.E. certification, it only has about a 40% failure rate

The acsm test is not so dificult that it can't be passed. Most of the test material is what you will learn in your phys assessment or similar class. risk factors for a cardiac event, definitions of hbp, and so on. After just a few years of college, if your Ex Sci program is good, it shouldn't be hard at all. Neither should the NSCA test, if you have a good ex phys class.

First off, get it right. CSCS is through the National Strength and Conditioning Assoc, it also requires a 4 year degree. ACSM is good as well, but geared towards clinical work. I teach exercise phys. at the college level. This is my response to uneducated (less than a B.S degree in my field of study) " I am qualified not certified".

If you are in it for some quick money, just get an easier certification and find clients on your own. You can make $50 an hour easily and they won't know the difference in your certification.

ACSM is a tougher certification. Signed. Qualified and Certified.. Peeps gotta read the stuff first
