c-sharp minor

Well-known member
Yesterday I drove a few blocks away when the car started wobbling badly. I pulled over and checked the the tires (I assumed I had a flat) and everything appeared normal. I drove back home to do a more thorough check and when I went to turn there was a VERY hard knocking sound.

It was coming from the driver's side front tire so I checked under the car but couldn't find anything broken.

Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing the problem?

I really don't want to spend a truck-load of cash on this car (it's my g/f's).

Tnx:D

Is it a front wheel drive??

Could be any of the following....Half-shaft needs replacing, tie-rod, tire out of balance, front end, shock/strut......Most of these are pretty cheap, or easy to fix....

Does the noise get louder when you turn real sharp??

Thanx bros.

Yeah it's front-wheel drive. It turns out it's my cv shaft. The boot covering the outer joint is right off. It's not ging to cost too much to fix, not that I'm going to do it myself, I'm to burned from leg day.:D

Just replaced mine....not very expensive, around 75$ for the shaft....the work wasn't hard either....They do make a syringe that re-fills and seals that boot...not worth a shit...re-place it my man

CV axles / joints. They cost around $140 each to fix (for two of them it will cost you $300). You will probably have to change both of them, that is if you want to keep your car. If you are planning to sell it, then just spend $50 (for each) and put special "boots" on those joints. The oil has probably leaked out some time ago.
