For all of you decline press believers...

i dont bench press.

under the same theory of the decline bench press being bad because of lower ROM, then everyone should stop flat benching or doing inclines (which probably have the most ROM compared to flat and decline) and everyone should only do standing overhead presses because it has the most amount of ROM any lift can have.

Your not the sort that enjoys a large chest?

i'm a complete newbie but i treat flyes as an accesory movement and i find it useless just for one reason...They dont fit into any decend program unless you're spending half of your lifetime in a gym...

maybe a set of flyes could fit in in a cutting routine or on a heavy deloading phase to lessen the stress or maybe to compensate for a delt injury and not let your chest unattended but why's all that fuss? Flyes are inferior to db press or BB press and that's the point. Now whether they're useless or not, i think everybody should answer that for themselves...

Fly's work the Pecs through an entirely difference range of motion, isolating the Pecs without bringing the Triceps into it. Using DB's it also works the shoulder stabilizers. I love supersetting DB Fly's with DB pullovers as a finisher to my Pec routine. Usually one superset gets it done = full swole pump!
For Chest/Delt/Tricep size and strength the single best exercise is the Supine (flat bench) BB Press with a 32" grip - IMO.

A lot of guys are already doing a form of decline press when they arch their backs and lift there butts off the bench.

Someone should inform Jay Cutler they're useless so he can spend his energy doing more useful exercises.

What never seems to get a mention in any decline discussion is the angle of the decline. A slightly declined bench can be very beneficial and place the shoulders in a stronger, more safe postion than flat bench - Dorian Yates did this.
