I think football for children and minors should be abolished until parents stop pushing their kids to play. Dangerous sport. There's a kid a high school senior that is learning how to walk and talk again less than a couple miles from my house in kc. Another one died last year.

If your kids want to play and the school you send them to has a program and is aware and prepared for head injuries I see no problem. If you catch a TBI within the first hour you have a chance of a normal life. It's these backwoods programs that treat concussions like a bump on the head and no one acknowledging that it's incredibly dangerous to play. We are supposed to progress as a society. Football is not above reproach. There isn't anything that can't be replaced besides your brain. That is what keeps you alive. It's what keeps you you. Small bleeds on the brain can put you in a freaking diaper. It's serious and it happens to kids all the time. Is that the life you'd want for your kids? Drooling and not able to communicate? No walking? Is it worth the risk?

There are actually more head injuries from bicycle accidents in football.


However, The number of people riding bikes compared to those that play football is much much higher. As well as the majority of head injuries incurred while riding are due to the fact that the person was not wearing a helmet.

What's the number of has-been's that force their kid to ride bikes vs forcing them to play football? Feel free to make up a statistic.
 
I suddenly want to ride a beach cruiser casually through a football game. Maybe do some figure 8's.
 
i don't give a shit what malcolm gladwell thinks about football...butt, if you haven't read "outliers" i highly recommend it...awesome book...gladwell is a kick-ass author...

Football is a pussy sport first off, maybe watch a hockey game and see how much punishment they take, when they are throwing punches and checks...football is a 5 second play...junk..hockey is faster and always moving

Football has been completely ruined by advertising dollars. 50 fucking replays from multiple angles just so Budweiser can get their name on the screen more. It's boring as fuck.

I was being sarcastic. Football is violent as hell. Anyone who says different never played. I think it's going in the right direction as far as concussion awareness though.

If my kids want to play, they'll play. My oldest sleeps with a football and basketball (his own choice). They could be doing much worse stuff than playing ball
