LOL -
Post something that might help members become more self-sufficient and it only get's ~30 views and falls of the 1st page in 20 minutes (nothing new). Post a thread "squealin' scammer" or some shit about pro wrestling or some other redundant/OT subject and it hangs around for what seems like an eternity. Some things never change - heh heh. Oh well...let's attach it to this sticky and maybe it will help someone.
1.
Use Advanced query versus Basic query to narrow your focus and minimize the volume of threads returned (see examples below):
2. Search by username: This self-explanatory option is
very helpful when used broadly or in conjunction with the options below to narrow your query.
3.
Search options are also self-explanatory but in general you should
use them to fine tune your search when appropriate (faster and more granular results will be returned).
- Search Forum:
Select the specific forum (e.g. Anabolic Discussion Board) and use the default settings (radio buttons) for search entire posts and show as threads.
- Date range:
Use the default of any date and newer unless you know the specific time frame you need/want to target.
- Sort: Use the default descending order and my preference is by title.
Examples using the above options: Anavar
1. Using "Anaver" only returns 4326 topics (ugghhh!)
2. Using "Anavar AND Dosages" returns 211 topics (more focused)
3. Using "Anavar OR Oxandralone AND Dosages" returns 6218 topics.
4. Using "Anavar AND BTG" returns 64 topics.
5. Using "CAN I DRINK WINNY" returns 553 topics (heh heh)
This is not all you need to know to find answers/threads but it may help to point you in the right direction. As with any search,
practice and "refining" your query's are the key.
NOTE: A very helpful tip also,
use Search the archived topics (thousands) discussion boards in the lower, left corner to access a goldmine of knowledge from the past (topic for another day) - performance is an issue but worth it.
