Fml...

Here's an update for everyone, I have hypertrophic cardio myopathy, my hearts only working at 25-30% right now. I am able to breath much better the antibiotics are fighting the pneumonia for now from what I feel. The big concern now is about my heart though. Turns out I didn't have a heart attack from what they saw on the Eco. They saw the tissue was still alive on my MRI. But they are considering putting in a pacemaker of some sort at some point.

Fucking hell...

Were you on clen?

Stero, get in touch with that doc I told you about. He's expecting to hear from you.

If you're that jaded you need to take yourself off the floor

Go be a school nurse

By jaded do you mean desensitized? If so that is in fact a very good thing for any seasoned experienced RN to have especially in an acute care/ICU/ER environment. I have worked in all three and can assure you if you were to come into my ER in full cardiac arrest you would want a "jaded" RN saving your life rather than a sensitive natured push over novice. Being "jaded" is what allows me to know when someone is there strictly for narcotics or truly has a severe ailment. Being "jaded" is what allows me to know if someone may be hiding a pistol in there arm cast even though they just came in for depression. Being "jaded" saves lives and prevents foreseen injuries. If I wanted to be a pussy bedside nurse I WOULD work "the floor".

Until you know WTF you're talking about how about you STFU and GTFO...tyia

Lolololololol

You have been drinking the sauce, bro. There's a difference between being "desensitized" and being "insensitive".

Of course there's a certain degree of detachment to doing the job, but that's also a common rationalization "caregivers" use for being complete a-holes.

If you can't turn it back on for a sick bro, you need to look at that. You can't live and die with every patient but there's nothing worse than a complete lack of empathy, even in a "male nurse".

I don't know if you're trying to compensate for the Focker-sized chip on your shoulder or what... I don't really want to muck around in your skull. I'm just saying have a friggin heart. The guy's sick.

I don't give a crap whether you change bedpans in a nursing home, or assist on medevac... I get it... You're "saving lives". You're a big deal. If it's so stressful to you that you can't maintain your own humanity maybe you need to do yourself and your patients a favor and do something else.

But you're right... You're the expert. No one could possibly know more about this shit than you do.

I'll just stfu like you suggested.

(where's the emoticon where I can give the finger?)

You know nothing about me and you obviously don't know shit about either pneumonia or MI's. If it were truly serious he would have been intubated within the first 24 hours before the abx could take effect. If it were a true cardiac event the EKG would have been abnormal and he would have mentioned the serious IV cardiac meds he was being given ie. Heparin, nitroglycerin or mentioned the stat heart cath/angiogram he needed. It's shitty but using my common knowledge nursing skills was able to determine it wasn't life threatening.

I have a ton of empathy and sensitivity. I would never have chosen this profession If I didn't. I get cases all the time that I cry over when I get home. I hold hands and rub backs and actually sit down with my patients, even when I'm super behind, just to get to know their story. I hug and cry with parents of deceased children. I console grief stricken family members and patients. I give sympathy when it's actually warranted; so I'll be sure to call you at your parents house next time I get a paper cut so you can send me a care basket and put me in for a prayer request. You don't know fucking dick about me or my character bish so seriously stick to what you know...whatever the fuck that is.
