I going to compete in this. It's raw no shirts allowed.

I hope most of you local peeps can come out and compete. This is a great begineer level comp.

Plenty of time to train and your really just competeing with yourself.

I love how they protect the girls egos with their weight divisions. Fly weight all the way through Middleweight haha.

I put off going to a meet for 10 years. Because I always thought I wasn't good enough, strong enough, etc...

I did my 1st meet about 2 -3 weeks ago at another local YMCA. Now I'm addicted.

Wannabebig- if you want to do it, I would just show up and do what you can, have fun with it.... There may be dudes putting up huge weights or dudes putting up nothing... I am sure it will be a blast...

Revex- you lifting bor?

Hammer- Why not get in on that, I know you don't flat any more, but I am sure you would love the competitive aspect of it...

Looks like fun bros- wish I lived out that way...

Revex- sweet borly!

Lets see;

1- you're coming off a bad shoulder injury less than a month ago. The same injury where I taught you rehabilitation methods.

2-Just got back into the gym less than 2 weeks ago and now you are working with lighter reps to learn full ROM and good form and now it's time to enter a flat bench contest?

3-You know I am a friend and I would not give it to you any other way than straight forward.

Bad idea.

Yea but bro this is in 1.5 months, I am sure I will get to full strength by then. I know you're my friend bro, and I will go by feel, if I'm 100% I want do this

Thanx for the vote of confidence brutha but its like this;

If I don't train for it I don't compete in it. This equates to me going into a NFL combine and competing for a QB spot when I haven't taken snaps for 5 years. It just doesn't make any sense to me since I do not train for it.

If it was an incline bench contest than count me in :)

Damn bro, that is too bad, I think it would have been cool though...

BTW, working hard on my incline has made my flat stronger than it ever has been... I am sure with 2-3 weeks of practice you would be blowing them all away! Either way, I guess I just wish I was over there, I would roll down there with you brolies and blow for sure....

I don't care what numbers people in my class do. I'm going to beat my last PR.

I learned that you have to compete against yourself. Support the other lifters, but your thre for you. If you go in thinking look at how big he is or look at how much he is lifting your just eating away at your confidence level.

Size is very deceiving.

I am weak for my bodyweight, I don't care. That will be corrected in time.

where is flushing? maybe i can go, i wouldnt compete becuase i have testing that monday but id like to go out and support my ef bros.

I just called over there and spoke to Jim Henry (718) 961-6880 and one of the rules is no arching, someone complained and said it was cheating. I tried to explain to him that is was proper form, but to no avail.

I'm still going and competing w/ my arch, I trainned that way and will compete that way.

Last Y comp they changed the rules if enough people bitched. So if some volunteers would bitch to them and maybe we can make it arch optional.
