Alot of people are taking Flaxseed nowadays.
This is for women with uterine fibroids or other estrogen-dependant condition.
DO NOT take ground flaxseed. I don't know about the oil but I was taking 2
tablespoons of ground flaxseed daily for oh about 6 months and my fibroid grew
like a mad dog and I suddenly had a painful lump in my breast.
I stopped taking the flaxseed and within a month the lump in my breast was gone.
My fibroid, after 2 months, is back to what it was.
Before I took flaxseed all I could find out here on the net were positive reports. It is
touted as an ANTI-estrogen, which would help relieve fibroids.
On closer look I find this at http://ehs.sph.berkeley.edu/msmith/ry/Flavonoid/FAQ_s/Flaxseed/flaxseed.html
" However, high levels (3 tablespoons or more of flaxseed, especially if ground) may
be harmful to certain susceptible individuals."
"Flaxseed is one of the richest sources
of plant chemicals with estrogen hormone activity" Which is just what us fibroid suffers etc. don't want.
