Wrong. It doesn't bind to test. It is good to do since it helps with cholesterol levels and numerous other things.

This information that posted on a thread that I had about flax...

I completely got rid of all my flax after reading those studies showing how it binds to testosterone. I have no idea whether or not if actually had an effect or not. (Libido's still strong as always )

Flax really doesn't have any DHA/EPA either:

One Tablespoon of Flax
Saturated Fat - 1.5 g
Monounsaturated Fat - 2.5 g
Polyunsaturated Fat - 9.5 g
Omega 3 - 7.5 g
EPA/DHA - 0.0 g
Omega 6 - 2.0 g

You're better off stickng with nuts, olive oil and fish oil in my opinion.

Also this.....

get some omega-3 fish oils... 9cals per gram of fat ya know

I use Ascenta NutraSea - Original (Lemon Flavour). not cheap but probably one of the best fats you can buy.

this is what theie info had to say...

The two omega-3 fatty acids required by the body are eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Oils from fatty fish are nature's best source of EPA and DHA. Comparatively, flax seed oil contains a high concentration of omega-3s but in a form called alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). For the body to use ALA it must first convert it to EPA and DHA. This conversion process is very inefficient and results in less than 10% of the ALA being converted to EPA and DHA.

hope this helps...

I take it every day. Tastes like ass but excellent source of Omega 3 fatty acids essential to your diet. Not to mention other benefits you will notice more moist skin especially in a dry climate like I live in and good for your hair not to mention an excellent aid in fighting dry eye if you should have that. Before my lasik surgery this helped my eyes tremendously while wearing contacts.

Lignans and Prostate Cancer
Testosterone is the male sex hormone, thought to be important in the progession of prostate cancer. Lignans in flax seed bind testosterone in the same manner as for estrogen (above). Researchers at Duke University found that supplementation with milled flax resulted in significant decreases in both total and free testosterone in prostate cancer patients. They also found a decrease in PSA levels in men with early stage prostate cancer.
