Fitness First anyone?

just wanted to know if anyone joined Fitness First.. and how are the facilities there.. cuz i'm from Malaysia.. and it's not bad..

for the uninformed.. it's quite a huge franchise gym based in Europe..

I was a member of Fitness First for 6 months in Sydney. The gym had everything in it. A huge gym area, about 5 large TVs with cable to watch while you did your cardio, aerobics classes, a sauna, swimming pool etc and tons of fitness instructors ready to persuade you to hire their services. I paid about AUD $79 per month and I thought that was quite expensive compared to other smaller gyms in my area. I didn't use their facilities most of the time that is why it was not worth me renewing my membership with Fitness First. However if you can afford it its a great place to work out.

are u a passport member? and i think ur paying alot compared to me.. i'm only paying like RM 175= 46USD..

wow!! u have a swiiming pool?!?! nothing like that over here.. we have a steam room tho.. nice.. and recently Clarins has even opened a men's care spa in the gym.. wonder if anyone uses it..

lol.. that suck.. at least we have "1" squat racks.. haha!! but i must say they cater to alot of our customer's needs.. their facilities are not bad too.. luckily no one here knows how to squat much.. lol.. so i dun have to wait for my turn.. and no one disturbs my work out too.. nice..

In London FF are all SHIT.

Lots of machines and lots of people.

TINY free-weight room and no squat racks...

from what u said in an earlier post, all gyms in london suck... too bad about that.

There are a few good ones, but it realy is a lottery where you live.

The Third Space at Picadilly is good, but I refuse to pay $2,500 a year for a gym that has no squat rack - even if there are 2 pools and a live DJ...

The hardcore sweat and rust, dungeon gyms are what I like but they are located outside town and I'm not near to any - they get way too busy after work and most dont open earliy enough for people to go before work.

All I want is a lifting mat, barbell and power rack, dip/chin bars and a bench for once a week pressing.

It's depressing how hard it is to find somewhere. I've been searching the internet for an oly coach in London and I've come up with just one potential contact. Er, when are we hosting the olympics? I wonder if more coaches come out of the woodwork as we get closer to the event. Maybe not, if basic equipment like platforms are so hard to find. :(
