Fit and Fab at 40!! GG's new log lol

So now that I am back....BACK ON TRACK with the posting....My question is I ate clean all week...did more cardio...lost a pound...funny thing was on Sunday I had to take 10mg of Prednisone...I got on the scale on Monday and had gained 6 pounds LOL...yesterday I was done 1 pound from where I started.....
 
GG Did a quick websearch as I had no clue what drug is got from http://www.drugs.com/prednisone.html
What are the possible side effects of prednisone?
• If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking prednisone and seek emergency medical attention or contact your doctor immediately:
· an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives);
· increased blood pressure (severe headache or blurred vision); or
· sudden weight gain (more than 5 pounds in a day or two).
• Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take prednisone and talk to your doctor if you experience
· insomnia;
· nausea, vomiting, or stomach upset;
· fatigue or dizziness;
· muscle weakness or joint pain;
· problems with diabetes control; or
· increased hunger or thirst.
• Other side effects that occur only rarely, usually with high doses of prednisone, include
· acne,
· increased hair growth,
· thinning of the skin,
· cataracts,
· glaucoma,
· osteoporosis,
· roundness of the face, and
· changes in behavior.
• Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
 
yikes...5 pounds in a day...well I'm hoping that it is going away lol...maybe I will drop a another one...I just needed to take it for the day due to my asthma...thanks superQ
 
I have been so freaking busy I can't get back on track...was good until I weighed myself Tuesday and now Ijust have a crappy attitude..all or nothing is stinking thinking and I know it....damn it.....back on the freaking wagon.....

Girl just wake up and say I'm going to do this... Forget about the scale... Forget about what you want to say to yourself about giving up. You have to have a starting point... Just move!!!

It's water wieght. Prednisone causes water retention.

I cannot even tell you how much I DESPISE prednisone.... IMPE (In my persoanl experience) HUGE weight (FAT) gain, food cravings, .... ala required "C" treatment etc.... You need to keep focused, active & strong when taking this stuff, it is very overpowering ... just my $.02


You're doing so well GG, keep with it... we're here to help you stay on track ... :rose:
 
The crappy thing about Pred is it totally counterproductive to what we do. It causes water weight gain, it increases hunger, and catabolizes lean tissue.

But, take the time now and use it as a starting point. The scale is a terrible thing because water weight fluctuates so much throughout the day and even moreso in women. You are going to be fine. BTW, how is the knee going and have you gotten any more information on it?

1246 cals and painted the fence all day for my cardio......but hey I kept track..my fat was high but hey....new day today!

I was swamped....had to ride for relay....clean and babysit....run the girlscouts meeting and go to the softball game! So I will try to cram more in today

Glutes are fine MY buns are killing me from that seat! However I think I will join the spin class more often....It was a blast. We raised a couple hundred yesterday....So well worth a little bum pain

I hear they have padded biking shorts for this purpose. You may want to look into that. I don't have any problem from the seat because my booty has natural fat padding. :rolleyes:

Can't get to the gym today hubby still gone....SO let see what I can do at home to get something in....However I am going to plant in my garden and work outside today so that is at least not sittingon my butt!

Sorry GG, I just meant since you cannot get to the gym, and are not sitting on your butt, then look to the diet to make the proper adjustments for no gym time, esp coming off a "Treat Meal" ... what I'm calling it now lol :D :)

Have anybody ever read "Fast Food Nation?" I recommend it as it will make you not want to eat fast food again.....except of course you are a fat ass powerlifter midget like myself....LOL

Just rent "Supersize Me"... I haven't been in a McD's since about 1990 but I still lost my appetite by his "Day 14"....
 
Im on a McDonalds cutting diet now. Cant beat a Cessar Sallad deal, with an extra grilled chicken breast and low fat balsamic vinegerete for 5$.

60g protein
Good fiber from salad
420 callories
3g sat fat
Almost no carbs
 
GOOD MORNIG! LOL Supersize me was great....have to read Fast Food Nation....Fast food is really not my thing....but anything sweet is! This week is going ot be insane...We have our Relay Walk starting on Saturday...OF COURSE the girl who is in charge is on vacation for 2 more days! I have to start calling walkers tonight...bake more food....and try to organize something I really don't know anything about LOL..BUT I will keep myself in check with the food...my training...which my knee feels freaking great! Cycling has not bothered it at all!



Diet was clean...no time to write it down lol but it was clean

YUP I've known about that since I was in High school. Stay away from there!!! Gross..... Where does the meat come from? I don't want to know.

My diet is clean and I did an hour of spin last night woooo hooo.....making bracelets to sell at Relay....baking food for the bake sale to rasie more money....coordinating walkers.....getting last minute things together........almost there...almost there
 
yeah something like that LOL....with 3 young kids and softball girlscouts Im just bored out of my mind......Oh if you want to come up this weekend and walk for Relay let me know...its in Milford and you can hang out with me LOL

Still eating clean which I seem to do better when Im not thining about it LOL....yesteday I was in the yard all day mowing and raking and planting ..but this am I am off to do a spin class and work on Relay stuff...this weekend I will be walking for a couple hours...almost done yay

I would do it!!! Unfortunately... I think my cals are getting to low to support such a walk. It's barely enough to keep me going with what I have to do! I love walks and runs :)
