Met up with some PL'ers in my area friday night... did a DE squat day... it was kind of an easy day since I was really just learning a lot... I don't remember the weights I used, I was trying to make sure to do stuff right......
I learned PL squat technique (had used more conventional athletic squat in past)- it was a lot easier to learn the basics than I thought it would be (though I would not say I am an expert as of yet by any means), a ton of things to remember to do during the squat though.... It is much easier to learn with someone there telling you what to do, than it is learning on your own.... I did not work with any significant weight, but I will be looking forward to giving it a test run this week!
Did GMs for the first time.... Needs improvement, not my best area, but I knew coming in that the core was weak.... will be looking for big improvements here....
Used the GHR for the first time.... I was thoroughly owned here.... LOL. The dude showing me cranked em out like nothing... I knew my hams were weak, but wow, I had no idea... I plan on spending a large amount of time working hams to bring them up to speed...
Reverse Hyper- I was pretty excited about trying this the first time.... Not totally comfortable and relaxed, but I think I did pretty well for my first time, I don't recall the weight, but it was a decent amount and I was still well within my limits on it. L looking to gain good ground and push harder here next time....
Weird but comfortable "Pump" in my lower back from this lasted all weekend....
Weaknesses: Hams- this is my first priority- they are a disaster area, will be doing lots of hammie work.... Erector Spinae- Also weak, though not as bad as hams... Secondary muscles- The squat used some new muscles laterally which I had not used, and got tired really quick, but I think I will gain quickly here over the next few weeks.... The years off after college before coming back seriously in the last year had a huge negative impact on my core/hams, but now at least I know just how bad it is...
Overall, I think I will make some really good progress, as I basically have not worked on my weaknesses at all at this point, and I previously had no idea how much they were lacking... looking forward to seeing what I will be able to do once those areas start to catch up...

I am going to start recording my wieghts next week and pushing the envelope, now that I have had an intro to the excercises....
The dude I met is a huge dude.... LOL- reminds me of some of my DT buddies from college.... Very cool guy...

Overall it is a long road ahead, but I am looking forward to the journey....
I am probably going to meet with them once a week for DE squat, and maybe also for my ME bench workout (they do Nazbar/MM style) starting in a couple weeks...
