first cycle options.

Hi, i was considering options for my first cycle, and any help would be really appreciated.
im 28, 5' 9'' and just under 180lbs, been working out for 4 years, and gained from around 145lbs. I would honestly say my training is good, form etc, compounds and what not. diet is, i would think relatively good (i would increase it if on a cycle)....

8.30 porridge, banana & 20grams whey shake
11.30 two chicken breasts, two pieces wholegrain bread, salad
3.30 oats & 20g protein shake
5pm work out (4 days a week) or cardio (2 days)
6pm PWO shake of afterglow.
7.30 can of tuna & wholegrain rice, med veg & cashew nuts
10.30 brown toast with peanut butter & 20g casein & 2g HMB


Anyways ....after doing lots and lots of reading, i understand why you should use test in every cycle, but, as a first cycle (assuming for some reason you really didn't want to use test), would it be a waste running 400mg of EQ only a week for 12 weeks ?

IF you didnt want to even throw in 250mg of test-e, could you in theory have a maintenance dose of 100mg a week of test, or would it just not be worth it ?

If i decided to go the test-only route, at doses of 250mg a week, being 28, and was prone to acne when i was younger (and both parents sides have MP baldness - none for me yet), what is the likelihood of sides, if any ?

400 mg/wk of EQ would make an excellent first cycle. Ive ran that exact same cycle about 9 years ago and gained about 8 lbs totally solid mass with just a so-so diet. Vascularity also
 
What are your goals? What compounds you should run is almost completely dependent on what your goals are.


In regards to sides - I wouldn't be so worried about MPB with a Test only cycle. If you start using compounds that are more androgenic, then you can start to worry about it.

There are always sides to worry about. Some are more or less guaranteed to an extent (Desensitization etc) while others are almost impossible to predict without the experience of having run previous cycles.

I ran a 20 weeker at 600mgs and it completely changed my body's composition.

gave me crazy anxeity, heart palpulations, difficlty breating at night...was really weird..on top of that i didnt get alot of gains from it..i knwo some people like it..but it doesnt agree with me

it is made for horses, im guessing not every human that ingests it will get results.

Why wait till you are on cycle to increase it. Ever try increasing it anyway off cycle?

^^^^^ this is about the average from the diet you just listed. Not a bad diet at all but

if you were only taking in 1.5 grams of protein per lb of body weight you would be around 270 grams of protein a day. Maybe that little extra protein intake is all you need man. Maybe just pumping up your protein to 270-300mg would do the trick for you.

Needto is correct,besides after a cycle thats the key to keeping those gains.

thanks for the replies, definitely helpful. I will try increasing the protein intake somewhat, but i'm always unsure about that whole 2g of protein per pound plus of bodyweight for anyone other than real professional bodybuilders ? Have any of you ever used those protein urine test sticks to see if you were passing protein (which i assume would be a sign that you are intaking too much?).

With regards goals, i would consider adding 10lbs of lean muscle in 3 months, possibly with a decrease in bf a result. I appreciate that lots of people are looking for sheer size and mass, but it's still ok to use aas in smaller doses for moderate gains right?

so in summary, would you all recommend just having a crack at 400mg EQ only a week for 14 weeks (i chose it over primo, as i know primo has less sides, but the idea of having a great body but a bald head ,really doesnt excite me haha!).

Unless you think 250mg test-prop a week would be better, so i could just discontinue if the sides are bad? and i guess the idea of 400mg EQ a week with 100mg of test as a very low maintenance dose is a no-starter?!

You Should meet your goal at 400 per week,you won't start seeing visable results until around week 6-7 but! thats when the fun starts.
