I had been taking Finasteride for close to a year......and during that time i did a couple of cycles of sus and a bit of diana.....it felt like the finasteride totally killed my sex drive, so i stopped taking it.....i have since shed alot more even though i am using mixodil 5%

I am now stuck....shall i start taking finasteride again to stop the shedding? and risk having my sex drive shut down again.
The other option is to just forget about it and lose my hair?

If i have a head that suited the shaved look i wouldnt mind so much....but the truth is i dont

Does anyone know of anything i can take with finasteride that can allow me to keep my libido/sex drive?

I use(d) Propecia and suffered a whole list of nasty sides. No sex drive ...and then I would cry about not having a sex drive. Same issue as you, though. I don't want to lose my hair. I ended up splittinng up my 1mg Propecia dose in half, ...and eventually down to 1/4ths. What kept my hair and caused the least amount of internal damage was a 1/3 dose ED.

I started off with propecia 1mg a day....It got expensive so Dr got me to try proscar 5 mg which had to be cut up in 4s....

Glad to hear people understand what i am saying....was thinking i was going to get blasted on here lol

Ok here is where i am at....Libido is back

Havent taken Finasteride for about 8 months

The sides i was getting were: sure groin area, and lack of wanting sex ( that is a first for me), cant say i got bitch tits because of it because my diet and cardio werent all that flash.

When i started using it i was on a cycle. I did not do a proper pct afterwards. Now do you think some of the sides may have been associated with this?

As i am thinking about using fina again, has anyone got some advice on how to get the benefits ( stopping hair loss) without the side effects? i ask this because they say fina is very good at preventing hair loss. In my frontal region i have lost quite a bit over the last few months especially.

Am currently on xandrox and rogaine. they may be good products but the hair loss has not subsided.

Finasteride is a type 2 5 alpha-reductase inhibitor that inhibits conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone, a key mediator of male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia). The objective of this study was to identify the optimal dosage of finasteride and to evaluate its efficacy and safety in the treatment of Japanese men with male pattern hair loss. In this double- blind randomized study, 414 Japanese men with male pattern hair loss received finasteride 1 mg (n = 139), finasteride 0.2 mg (n = 137), or placebo (n = 38) once daily for 48 weeks. Efficacy was evaluated by global photographic assessment, patient self-assessment, and investigator assessment. All efficacy endpoints showed significant improvement with finasteride therapy by 12 weeks (p < 0.05 versus placebo). At 48 weeks, 58%, 54%, and 6% of men in the finasteride 1 mg, finasteride 0.2 mg, and placebo groups, respectively, had improved based on assessments of global photographs. All efficacy endpoints were numerically superior for the 1 mg dose over the 0.2 mg dose at 48 weeks. Finasteride treatment was generally well tolerated. Finasteride 1 mg\day slows hair loss and improves hair growth in Japanese men with male pattern hair loss.

Yes, I don't think it affected me negatively either, except my dr. thinks it may be partly responsible for elevated liver enzymes. I was probably too horny as now I'm more like a regular man and not craving sex all the time. ( a regular middle aged man that is, LOL)
