Finally saw Superman

Disappointing. Almost awful.

Going in I thought the big "controversy" was about leaving out the American way. After watching it I know think that whole part is irrelevant except as it evidences an attempt to "modernize" the Superman character in pointless and unappealing ways.

So now were left with a dumbass who didnt use protection and a sad example of the modern American family.

I should of waited for it to come out on HBO

Ehh. I guess I would have seen it regardless. We all read and collected comics as kids, and its interesting to see those characters brought to the screen.

Just the script was a complete butchery, and frankly the movie was long with a lot of inane plot in between the action scenes.

And frankly none of the characters was very likable as people. All emotionally immature and self centered.

Anyways I thought it was the most entertaining out of all the superhero movies. No one else comes close to Superman's powers so it makes all other superheros look meager by comparison and pointless to a degree. Spiderman was okay but Tobey McGuier is such a pansy in it. Batman Begins was good but he was only human, which hell plenty of people could do what he did if they trained long enough. *yawn*

LOL at anyone looking for Oscar quality to come from a superhero movie too. These movies are supposed to eye/ear candy above all. The "plot" is just filler.

people were going to rip on it regardless of how it was. If Superman was a bad-ass, people would say it was too comic bookish, and too kiddish. If it was just drama, peoploe would say it's boring.

The director knew this, and had to balls to do it anywyas, after all the pussies turned it down.

I liked it but Gene Hackman, Margot Kidder, Ned Beaty and Christopher Reeves were all tough to live up to. I mean the original is pretty damn awesome if you think of the year it was made in. Shit, it had Marlon fucking Brando in it for christ sakes.....Anyway, i liked it. Keven Spacey and the new Superman did well. Didnt like Lois as much tho and the Daily Planets Editor wasnt as good in this one or Jimmy Olsen...shit now that i think about it definately wasnt as good as the first two, but definately worthy of seeing.

Just seen it.

I had heard it wasn't good at all.

However, having had the chance to view it for myself, I would definitely give it 7/10. Heck, I feel good, i'll stretch to 8/10.

Brandon Routh is definitely the right guy to play superman. He's like a newer version of Christopher Reeves. Kevin Spacey was also good at playing nemesis Lex.
