figuring net gains?

this may be a stupid q. but i need to know how to calculate net gains. for example, if i gained 13lbs and lost 5% bf how do i find out my net gains? can someone help me out on this one.

Take your old body fat % and figure out how much fat you lost. Then get your true weight gain, added to fat lost.

Example:

OldStats: 200lbs 10% bodyfat means 20lbs was fat.

NewStats: 210lbs 5% bodyfat means 10.5lbs fat.

NetGain = 210-200 + (20-10.5) = 19.5lbs lean muscle
FatLose = 9.5lbs
