For all those who are apprehensive about being in a violent confrontation. Read: "Performe with Confidence".

As a SD instructor I must say that I would not advise any of my students to enter into a combat with a knife-wielding attacker, it's too dangerous and the situation is usually to fluid to be controlled with a pre-determined counter.

As for BaBa-Booey, I take your story on face value and tell you that you were lucky you did not get your wrist slashed when you grabbed the wrist of the knife-wielding attacker. I wouldn't recomend you try it too often, not even with all the martial arts training in the world.
