When you can do ANYTHING in the gym on on events that they can...then you can talk about them. Coy is a good personal friend of mine and one of the strongest athletes in the country...

The Coy and Craig quotes are really the best. You only get that if you understand things like pain, stress under iron, fear, and will. Kinda hard to explain if you don't already get it. Those are good quotes for the competitors. Sometimes it's time to just shut your mouth and perform.

I agree. The mentality of Chad Coy amazes me. The man does not know the words quit and he is 38 and still VERY competitive. I'd have to have an amazing day and he would have to fall on every event for me to beat him in a contest...

He has sent me a few emails lately. The last one he sent me was about Boston and he said...
"It is just another show....he could change everything the day before and it really should not matter....you are strong and in shape = good performance!"

How do I argue with him, especially seeing that he is freaking awesome (and 5'10" 265-285).

With Strongman, as well as other hard-core sports...there comes a time when everything must simplify. You just have to find your balls and do some crazy things. War becomes life, at that point. Simplicity.
