Few Progress Pics...

Took these tonight about an hour after my "pump up" early week session in the gym. I did some light bottom position overhead presses (no back support), rotators, tricep press downs, lat pull downs, and curls. Mostly just to get the blood flowing...

Gosh...I keep eating and eating and getting leaner and leaner...time for more pizza:)

revexrevex: Deadlifts, farmers and that is about it. All of my events use some sort of back. Maybe I just have a HUGE head or something...lol. No...no cycle...lol

Damn B, your erectors are wider than most peoples' lats. In the 3rd and fourth pics they look like granite pillars. I know quite a few dudes with really wide backs, but I don't think I've ever seen erectors that dominant. Seriously impressive

For this contest I have been focusing on my shoulders and erectors mostly...and some abs. I guess maybe it shows.

Most of my back is ONLY erectors...looks kinda funny actually...

Don't know what I weigh at the moment. Close to 290 maybe? I ruined my scale in a tragic box squatting accident involving the use of non-secured bands...:)

The off season is kinda rough in strongman. This past year my schedule would have looked like this.
Feb 16-17th: New England Strongman Showdown, Boston, MA
May 18th: MO's Strongest Man
June 15th: KY's Strongest Man
October 5th: North America's Strongest Man

If I make the pro class this year then I will need to focus on base strength again and getting used to using the heavy weights. If not, then back to speed work on the events for the amateur weights. In between contests I need the break for my joints and muscles to recoup. A time to relax and put on a few pounds. As the contest nears I need to focus on getting back into shape again on those events.

There just isn't much time for me to focus on spending 16 weeks to diet, lose my strength, then regain it all over again for a strongman contest. Honestly, I find bodybuilding boring...but that is just me.

Awesome genetics!!! you certainly have a powerful build. Its obvious that you have spent plenty of time deadlifting, pulling heavy objects in strongman, and pressing heavy logs over your head! Keep up the good work.

Now to incorporate some kickbacks and leg extensions - you will get really huge.

how tall are you? i guessing around 6 feet...maybe taller cuz you look kinda lean for 290...when somebody says 290 im thinking like an offensive lineman or something...its probably just me though

Someday people will understand that I have been lifting HARD and HEAVY and INTENSE for the past 9 years. People look for that magic pill or powder or exercise that will make them huge, strong, fast, lean, etc... It just doesn't happen like that.

Sacrifice. I make lots of sacrifices. Sleep, food, fun, etc... I give up a lot to get a lot.

To gain much one must give up much. One must suffer much.
Light Weights, No Aches, No Medals...

it's so stupid how people think food makes you fat and just lifting will make you bigger. of course i thought this too, but i was 10
 
Right now I can not afford to buy a lot of clean food. I eat a lot of tuna, oatmeal, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, milk, pasta, hamburger...and whatever left overs we have for dinner. My parents try to take me out to eat with them also and even bring me home food to eat later.

Junk food is better than no food. Muscle is a lot harder to build than fat is to take off. Those pics don't really show how lean I am at the moment. I can actually see my abs and you can't see the veins or the cross-striations in my quads in the last pic...

hmmm hey clint, how about making a journal on the diet board or something with a days worth of meals. Should be cool bro...up to you though, i'm sure a lot of people would find it interesting

I'll think about it. Some days I eat a metric ton of food and on others I just eat what I can. On stressfull days it is hard for me to eat. I have taken 5 tests and did 3 papers this week along with training and class. Some days I need to just spend a few hours on the couch or studying...more than I need to be eating...

Yeah...I sometimes hate having big feet...a size 16 stinks to find...

Got on my scale today and weighed 287 at the END of my workout and have not had much food today...

Jesus, a 152lb boy transforming into a 290lbs behemoth. Thats what happens when you when you train hard and eat big over the years. Hell, I remember the days of being 119lbs. Excellent work!!
 
Emphasis on your statement "over the years". I have been training HARD for 9 years and have been eating LOTS of food. I have obsessed about strength training for nearly a decade now.

I wish that I had more pics of me at 300+ pounds so that you could see me bloated and fat...lol.

Yes they are. The day I saw them I was over 300 pounds...306 I think. That was the day that I decided that I would get back into shape.
