And we as men can NEVER handle the answer to that question...we want to think that we are boldy going where no man has ever gone before. However in today's society finding such a thing is a Holy Grail of sorts...and if she did say that she had never been with another guy then you would think that she was lying. Nothing she will tell you will work. I know that you say you want to know....but you don't.

Well man...I know I'll get flamed for this but here is my opinion. If I am with a girl, in a relationship, then it is because I like her as a person. And no matter what she has done in the past...all those actions and reactions are what has made her what she is. She is the sum total of all her life experiences. If I like her as a person then I have accept all of it. And if she's with me...she's with me...what happened in the past doesn't really bother me. There is nothing I could do to change it...and if I did change it then she wouldn't be the same person. But like I have said before...opinions vary...and that's just mine.

I think it kind of sucks that guys (like MB) think a girls number makes her a slut. I mean really...a person's past makes up who they are today, and that is the person that you want to be with, you know? Why judge them on their mistakes...especially if they don't judge you for yours?

and if a girl has slept with a bunch of guys, had one-night stands, can go from sleeping with one guy to the next (even if its only her 4th guy to her 5th guy) without a worry, or treats sex like its no big deal, then the person she is today is a S-L-U-T.

MadBomber and I think very much alike on this topic. Only, he seems to think it makes us immature and we need to change. But I'm working on converting him. :) If a girl has slept with more than three guys, I don't want to date her. ESPECIALLY if she is in her early to mid 20's like me.

No offense...but in doing so you are severely limiting your chances to find happiness. It is so hard to find the right person to begin with. Once you start eliminating more and more possabilities...the odds are no longer in your favor.

Funny thing is I used to refuse to date a woman that smoked. It was a set rule. Then I got to thinking about all the women that I might have missed a meaningful relationship with because of a hang up that I had. I know that smokin and having sex are completely different but the point is still valid...IMO I mean if someone is willing to accept me at face value then I should at least be willing to do the same.

I used to be just like you, I dated a girl who let me know to much info(She had been with 5 guys) and it ruined the way that I looked at her.

I think it an insecurity thing since my stats are waaay over that and it did not bother her.

To avoid this problem:


Second or third date I say this:

"The past is the past and I don't need to know about it. I don't care what or who you have done, just don't let me ever meet any of them."

Indeed, you are correct about my standards SERIOUSLY limiting my options with women. But it DOESN'T reduce my chances of being happy with someone. Dating someone who hasn't held sex in the same regards as I have is what would limit my chances of being happy! My last relationship is all the empirical evidence I need! :)

And to set the record straight a woman's past does matter to me...it would be stupid to think that it doesn't. As I would hope that my past would matter to her. It's just that I give every woman a clean slate to start with so to speak.

And no, the way you put it you are not limiting your chances at happiness...because the ones that you have eliminated from your search wouldn't make you happy anyway. So I definitely agree with what you are saying. I am just playing devil's advocate here somewhat. And I submit to you that people can and do change. So you have to allow for that when you discover a woman's past.
 
It won't matter to me if she's been with other men, shit I have been with other women, the best sex I have ever had was with a very experienced and very uninhibited woman, she was fantastic.

Yes, this is very true. The above philosophical statement is the ONLY reason I dated my last girlfriend to begin with. She swore she had changed. But she hadn't. So while I believe the opportunity to change is always right in front of you, most people never actually take it.

I had a girlfriend once that had a reputation that I found out about after dating her for a couple months. It freaked me all out. I already cared about her at that point and it didn't suit her personality to have been banged by half the campus. I couldn't deal w/ it and we never made it.
